Pricing seems fine, but I have to admit the ad rubs me the wrong way a bit. Half of it is telling your potential buyers what you don't want them to do.

"don't lowball, better have cash, other people want it so hurry up, put exactly this in your email or I'll ignore it"

I'd take some better pictures, clean up the ad text, and see what happens. I wouldn't adjust the price much, I'd be surprised if it doesn't eventually sell right near the $3K mark.

Yea I can see that I am half frustrasted with all the spam and low ball calls I get and people saying they are gonna come by and dont. Yeah I do need to get like a digital camera or something instead of cell phone pics.

Im so tired of craigslist it isnt even funny.

Also, do you have the title in hand, or do you still owe $ on it? If you have the title, definitely put that in the ad. It's a big selling point when people are going from ad to ad in craigslist with people who want other people to "take over payments" or other silliness.

Oh man I did forget to put title in hand. Naw I dont owe on it. Im looking at getting a digital camera now. This one guy did offer 2600 to me for it and im thinking about taking it just so i can hurry up and get a down payment on a bigger bike loan.

But I dont want my impatience to kill me.

I tried to sell my '08 Ninja 250r, but after about 10 days I pulled the ads down.
Plenty of people contacted me - but all with stupidly ridiculous lowball offers, and all of those without asking me a single question about the bike or asking to come check it out.

I gave up on selling it and will ride it another year. I guess I'll try again next year. Maybe if the economy is doing better than it will sell for a decent price.

I agree with Alex that you might want to reword the ad.

My experience with Craigslist is that the majority of readers are looking for deals. I've had great luck selling tons of stuff that I sold at deal prices.

I tried to sell a car for my mom on Craigslist and get a fair price for it and got no response. After several weeks I purchased an ad on AutoTrader and sold the car in a week. Different audience.

nada for an 08 is around $2100-$2600. $3200 aint gonna happen unless you find someone that just has to have the bike.

I think I would take the $2600 and run, BTW I love craigslist. Sold my SV on there a couple of years back in 07' it was a 2000 SV 650 naked got my asking price as I was of the mindset that I would either take $3300 or keep it, the guy really wanted the bike so deal done. Now I also think your ad needs a serious rewording so that no one WAISTS your time..lol just kidding. I would simply put down:

08' Ninja 250R $3000 OBO pristine condition, never dropped or laid down. Title in hand, test rides in parking lot(find a nice big one with little use) only with cash in hand. List any mods done to the bike as added incentive and thats all. If you lower asking price I usually find people will take 1-200 below asking so if you can get $2800 for it I would take it and run.

Yeah I was thinking of trading it in. Man I get some of the most ridiculous offers its crazy. Yeah I may purchase a ad on cycletrader.

Only thing about the dealers in michigan is that they are a rip off. Compared to deals I hear people getting in other states. Yeah I wasnt expecting 3200 but i put it at that price because of craigslist.

I got a couple offers yesterday for between 2600-2800. It was kinda funny this one guy text'd me about the bike then got mad at me because I live 68.7 miles away from him. He wanted me to come to where he lives and then he said he may say no on purchasing the bike lol.It has been the most interesting time with him, I think he is very young or uneducated.

GLWS!

I think if you are willing to take $2800, then advertise as such($2800 FIRM!!!). Right now I think that is a fair price for both parties.

Don't forget to keep safety in mind when meeting these people. I wouldn't meet at your house. Never meet alone. If the deal sounds too good to be true, it is(and possibly unsafe).

great second ad. my experience with selling vehicles is that timing is everything and it only takes one buyer.

don't take it personally when the bike doesn't sell... the right/lucky buyer will eventually come along. patience is key.

Another tip too for CL listing would be embedding bigger high res pictures with html image tags since CL pic upload limits the number you can post as well as horrible quality.

Code:
<IMG SRC="http://www.yourwebsite.com/image.jpg">
and make a short youtube video with a walkaround, bike startup, etc. Very easy to do, doesn't cost anything, but goes a long way I'd think.

Had another call on it today. Hoping to sell it and get a zx6r, I only put about 1600 miles of ride time on the bike. Im starting to wonder if jumping up to such a big bike so soon could be a mistake.

Last year when I put my bike up for sale, a guy came down with his gf in his Scion with a loud a** fart can. He spend almost 2 hrs looking/checking out the bike.
I was about to say "dude, either you buy it or you don't...make up ur ffff ing mind" but I didn't cuz I didn't want to be rude.

You should be fine as long as you know your responsibilties as a rider.
I only put 2500 miles on mine and now I'm in the market for a 600.

Yeah they can look at it as long as they want to I will just grab a lawn chair or start mowing my grass.

I would say im responsible but my boyfriend doesnt think so. Im not a group rider I dont really like to ride in group or really do anything in groups. When Im in a group for some reason he says I do things like im all alone. Im not good at signalling what I want to do if I want to use the bathroom I pull over and do so. He wants me to use all these hand signals and stuff As far as road safe yes. DO I feel my oats sometimes yes, I really only want a 600 because the 250 is physically kinda small for me and I dont want to get left behind any more.
