It was stolen from work in a matter of mins, must have poped the steering lock and rolled off on it. Sucks as it was financed and it seems as if I don't have gap insurance

Leads lol, they didn't even drive out where it was stolen. Took the report over the phone and are mailing me a copy of the report. They couldn't give two shits.

Make sure you ask for security cam footage if there is any. I'd go around to all buildings / businesses in the fascinate of where it happened and explain your situation, see if they caught anything on film. So sorry to hear about your bike,I hope you get it back soon.

Edit:

p.s. If you find him.....I'll help bury the body

Yea I have insurance I don't have gap insurance though, what that means is if what they offer does not equal my loan amount I am on the hook for the rest which is going to be anywhere between 0 and 1k.

Yea I work at the Safeway in ghetto Pedro, the shot area not the nice one in upper Pedro.

Thanks for the offer on the bike but I would feel like **** on someone elses bike. I'll just chill till it all gets settled out, it shouldn't be too long all my reports and claims have been filed and I need to fill a few more, hope to be back on two wheels in a month.

Your not alone man, I have made it through two brand new bikes being stolen. My first bike (08 CPB ninja 250r) and my second bike (09 yamaha R6S). Leaves you feeling empty inside, but you'll get through it. I also wish I could find the rat bastards who stole my bikes, (especially the R6, that was a beautiful bike.)

That it was, a very nice generous offer and part of what sets this site on top of all others members like that. I just don't feel right on someone elses bike, damage, insurance and that kind of stuff. I still have my truck so I have a way around town.

Yiu guys are all great and and I thank all of you.

Dang, that really sucks. I hope you find your bike. What goes around comes around tho. Thieves eventually always get caught. When I lived in my old apartment, I had 2 of my cars broken in to. They finally got brave enough to break into my stealth which set off the factory alarm. I called the cops and they got picked up a few blocks from my apartment. You may never hear of them again, but rest assured, they'll eventually end up enjoying a sausage sandwich with Bubba.

Update Bike has been recovered!!!!!!! All the plastic are off it but are in good shape. Front mounting bracket was broken off as he seemed to have trouble with it and cut the bracket off. None of the fairing bolts are there either and the rear seat is not there.

Crazy thing is, the guy who stole it had stole another bike. He was driving up and down pacific like a douche. Well he caught the eye of a local bike shop owner who noticed the bike as the guy who owned it came in and got parts from him. The shop owner followed the guy home and called the cops. When the cops got there to get that bike the doouchebag was in the middle of stripping my bike. Talk about getting caught red handed!

The bad thing is the cops never called me. I was going to local shops to let them know about my stolen bike is how I came across the owner of the shop who told me all this!

Insurance company will look at it in the next day or so and take it to get it repaired.

You are a very lucky person, I'm glad to hear you found it. Did the cops search his garage / house to find any of the missing pieces? Well, on second thought, if insurance is takin care of it I guess it doesnt matter much. In court, show him why he should have thought twice about messing with a ninja 250 man!

Marketplace here has someone selling blue plastic, might be a good place to get it cheap. Insurance will pay for new, of course, but nothing wrong with taking that nice big check and being smart about spending it.

I'm glad it got found!
I had my bike stolen 4 years ago, never got recovered. Insurance paid out, but wasn't enough for a new bike
The theft left a scar in my mind. I am so paranoid about my bike's security now, very very much indeed.
I hope none of you ever become a victims of moto theft.

Look after your pride and joy!

That's awesome to hear, (that it was found, that's amazing). I still think burying him would make you feel better

*edit* after thinking about the possibility of this happening to me... I think I'm going to investigate one of those crazy GPS tracking systems.
