HUD Goggles
has anyone seen these? they look pretty cool. they are made for snowboarding but i figure they would be fine on the road too with an open face helmet.

Dude, even if I couldn't fit those in a fullface, I'd get a pair of those just for everyday life. I'd probably start running around a lot more, jumping off random things, climbing store displays, and just generally be a completely obnoxious pedestrian, but it'd be so sweet that that the world would understand. If anyone looks at me funny, I'll just tell them I'm trying to get high scores and unlock some sweet life achievements
That's the coolest thing I've ever seen. Just what I need for my effort to turn life into a video game. I actually seriously kind of can't wait for these to come out |

Might be a little distracting making you take your eye of the road for a second or two, and the price tag is pretty steep. And the button controls are on the right hand side so your throttle hand is involved in changing the screen, not such a good idea.

Hecks yeah. If a HUD is good enough for a jet pilot, it should be good enough for us. In the goggles maybe not so much, but mounted directly into a Helmet, with Nav, Speedo, etc. etc.
That would be amazing! Especially if it were linked with Google maps or something so we could see through blind corners and whatnot. Mind that goat. What goat? Splat. |

Not the same as a HUD, but I have a display on my Bluetooth headset, though you can't read it when you wear it.
To add insult to injust, the Caller ID function doesn't even work with the iPhone (well, it works until you add the number to your iPhone's contact list... probably only supports numeric CID data). My helmet's Bluetooth kit works much better (no display; uses text-to-speech). I don't have to take off my helmet (or take out my phone, but that's a given) to "know" who's calling, even if I can't see the CID or hear a custom ringtone. |

Ill believe it when I see a working version for sell...until then, this is just another great idea that will probably never come to reality.

If you google it, you will see the general consensus is that no one really believes it. The features listed at the end seem to scream, "parody!"

A few friends of mine are making a helmet with an augmented reality hud and some other stuff on google wave. They were flipping out when they saw it, but ya.. seems fake.
