Moving Ninja via UHaul
Hey guys,
I will be moving in a month and I am thinking about using the closed tailer to move the motorcycle with a bed and few boxes. From Philly to Boston. Anyone done it? TIA |

Yep, that's exactly what I did in 2009. The closed trailers do have holds inside that you can use ratchet tie-downs to secure the bike. Before accepting the trailer make sure that it does still have those. Your biggest obstacle will be to keep it from leaning over. If you have stands for the bike I would also suggest using those. I had an advantage of being able to use my center stand. If nothing else you could try just putting it on the kickstand and using the tie-downs to secure it that way. Just make sure you make them tight enough that you start to compress the the suspension a little. Don't compress it all the way, just enough to make sure the suspension is keeping tension on the straps.

Make sure to get a trailer that either is made for bikes, or that you get a stand and secure it tightly. I would even try a stand with straps and tie it down if it is inside a truck. Boston is a while from here. Hope you figure it out, but I bet its cheaper than living in Philly.

Yah, that looks like it would work great. Just remember to use the ratchet straps to secure it down. The trailer should have d-rings inside it for you to use.

With some wood, a drill and bolts I could make something probably cheaper than that LOL

There are a couple of youtube videos kicking around that show just how to do it in the U-Hauls with the straps. The bike is not going to go anywhere if done correctly. I bought some straps directly from U-Haul when I picked up the truck and didn't have a problem getting it home.

I got a mail advert from CycleGear that had their in-house brand of wheel chock on sale.
http://www.cyclegear.com/eng/product...ock/web1007486 Can't remember if the price was lower in the print ad, or the same as the website. |

Cut two pieces to 3' long two pieces to the size of the width tire base and a last 2' piece for the top of the T Bolt them all together using the picture below..... There measurements are a rough guess but I'm 90% sure they would work.
