Any chance we can do it the weekend before? Would more people be able to attend? I might be able to make it down and crash in Lafayette.

@greenaero Kind of a good thing it was rescheduled. I rode today (Sat. 5/4) in the mountains and valleys around the Livermore area, and the winds were freakin horrible. Pretty strong with gusts that blew me all over the road. I'm sure my tank and tail bags helped amplifiy it too. In some areas I had to do well under the speed limit just to stay in my lane!

@Kevin1956, Yes, the winds can be pretty brutal here at times. Our planned routes should avoid the worst areas ( Vasco Rd between Livermore and Brentwood, Altamont hill area, anyplace with wind farms, etc.)
I'm back now from my brother's memorail service. Thank you all for your kind thoughts and support. I'm excited and looking forward to our get-together.

6 days to go! A bit windy today in Livermore but not bad as we got further from the Altamont. My younger brother will be joining us and some others from the BARF.

10 day forecast is looking promising...mostly sunny and 79 for Saturday, sunny and 76 for Sunday. Glad it's hopefully not going to be in the 90s like it's supposed to be on T/W/Th.

Looks like Friday is going to be a much warmer day inland than Monday, so I'm going to take the coastal route (PCH to 152) up on Friday, then the 25/Peachy Canyon/Indian Valley inland route back down on Monday when it's not so hot. I'd love some company if anybody else is coming from San Luis Obispo or points south.

I just arrived in town. I'll be at the meet up point tomorrow. Looking forward to meeting a few Ninjetters. Looks like our attendees are dropping like flies lol.

Lots of traffic and passing over the double yellow line (when safe to do so of course) on PCH. People drive like a bunch of tourists on that road (I think because they are lol). Hecker Pass looked like a fun road, but I got stuck behind a Honda Crosstour holding up the car in front of me. No safe place to pass on that road and the Honda refused to use the turnouts, even though there were 10+ cars stuck behind it. A fire was just starting in the hills near Hecker Pass; saw lots of responders going code 3 the opposite direction on Hecker Pass, Watsonville Rd, and even 680. The smoke turned from thick black to grayish white, so hopefully they got the upper hand before it got too big. Had lots of fun lane splitting on the 680. Overall a nice ride up that would have been better if less people were in my way lol. I'm looking forward to taking the 25/Peachy/Indian Valley route home on Monday. Should be much less trafficky.

Great ride today! We had 6 riders : Alex, Jeff, Kevin, Jesse, Sam and me. The weather , traffic and road conditions were excellent. We started off in Livermore and rode the serpentine Mines rd and stopped at the Junction for lunch. We proceeded on to the observatory on the peak of Mt. Hamilton and enjoyed the panoric view of the South Bay there. We then we then went to Calaveras Rd and rode it back to Sunol. Good riding , perfect weather, good people, no mishaps ,it was an awesome day !

Sam , Jeff and I will be dining at Alberto's Cantina in Pleasanton. I hope tomorrow will be as good as today was. Photos and video to come.

That was fun! Great weather, decent road conditions (a little gravel never hurt anybody ), fun route, and fun riders. Click on each pic twice for it to show up in full resolution in a new window.

Ride start:

Vic, Kevin, Jesse, Sam, Alex, and Jeff:

Thanks for posting the pictures Alex! wtf is that pose I did in my solo picture...you should have said something before you took that picture lol

Here's the video from the observatory riding down the hill. As usual make sure to mute or turn down your audio before viewing...my camera's still making the annoying vibrating noise. I'm slow...

Had a great ride today on Calaveras Rd and Palomares Rd with Vic. We had a 3rd rider but he left very early into the ride due to an emergency phone call. Here was my adrenaline rush for the day, coming around a blind corner into a minivan taking the racing line on Calaveras Rd.

Shortly after that I pulled over to collect my thoughts and took some pictures:

The weather and road conditions were perfect. I only saw significant gravel in one corner all day (on Palomares) and that was even marked with a much appreciated "SLIDE AHEAD" sign.

@jeffb502, great report and pix! I had another blast today with great conditions and a ton of fun. The only thing missing was more Ninjetters to share it with us. A great weekend, I can hardly wait to do it again!
