Project Sharkey, 1978 C2

I've had my '78 KZ650 C2 since High School.

Later in life, she got nicknamed Sharkey, because I added some teeth to her.

She has sat the last four years, as I bought a ZRX1100.
This year I decided to start some work on her.

I have swapped the VM24SS slide carbs to some newer CVK carbs off a Ninja 600.
Done a number of maintenance items, changed brake fluids, fork oil, valve clearances, new tires, battery and bits here and there.
She is in need of a paint job, as 125,000 + kms and 40 years of wear and tear has taken a toll.
Have decided on keeping the Shark theme.
Still working on paint design, but this is where she's headed;

New clutch plates and release parts, ZRX shocks, ZX6e tail light with signals;

Working on tail ideas;

Haven't updated this post.
Did do lots of maintenance to the kz650, and rode her in 2021.
The painter did not have the body work and fairing ready, but rode with spare bodywork I had.
Managed 2500 KMs last season.

This Winter I had the gas tank I'd been using repaired, and colour matched to the tail and side covers.
Also got a little Cafe fairing, painted to match:

Lots of changes made to her.
Not anywhere near stock anymore.
Started her up this past weekend after months of Winter hibernation.
