Anyone else have little patience when waiting to upgrade?

I've been trying to sell my bike for a couple of weeks now, still nothing biting.

I so want the ZX10 in my garage now. lol It is hard for me to sit back and wait. I do want to get the max money for my sell, because I know trade in value is less than selling it privately.

Now my wife wants me to hold off to see if she gets a bonus soon. If she does, that will dramatically reduce the amount I have to finance for (which wasn't much anyway), so I shall wait some more. It is so tough to wait.

Am I the only person that gets impatient like this?

Waiting does suck. My dream bike, either a zx-14 or c-14, was put on hold because my youngest's braces cost a tad more than I thought. Alas, my 2fiddy will just have to do. Kids are expensive and should be outlawed

I never have patience, and buy the new bike (car/gadget/etc) before worrying about selling the old one. If you're set on buying the new item anyway, just do it. Then don't worry about rushing the sale of the old one to meet an artificial deadline. You can often get a better sale price anyway when you have time to wait for the right buyer. Trade-in is never the way to go.

Hard to tell me wife that. She doesn't want two in the garage, because she knows there would always be two. I'd lose the steam to sell it and would keep both of them.

yep... plus if you don't have the cash already in hand to buy the new bike, can you really afford it, anyway?

I had to chuckle when I read your post. I could swear you were talking about us. LOL
My husband, cb61, does not wait when it comes to our bikes. If I even say carbon fiber the UPS guy shows up at my door the next day.

In fact, we were at Motoprimo today and my husband has my next bike picked out for me already. Upgrades are like tats, you can't stop with just one.

But I understand how much waiting sucks. I was driving myself nuts waiting for my leathers to show up. Hang in there!

Now that you mention it, if the choice is an extra $1500 in my wallet, or a 2nd bike in the garage, I think I'd keep the 2nd bike as well.

She knows I'd keep them both, so it is a prerequisite to sell off the current before I get the new.

I shouldn't have to wait long though. She will find out about that bonus by next week (could possibly be later, but unlikely). If that works out, then I should have a new bike next week too.

I would keep the ninjette as a commuter, wait till you have to buy your first set of tires for the zx10 $$$$ after 3k miles. Thats why I downsized and got the 250 for commuting, I can buy easily 3 sets of tires for the ninjette for what I was paying for 1 set for my old bike. Plus the ninjette gets way more miles per set of tires than a zx10. Save the ZX for fun and twisties and keep the ninjette for commuting..Problem solved you just gotta explain the cost of ownership to your wife.

This is why I hate planning on major purchases haha. When I was set to buy my car I couldn't sleep for a week. These days I like to surprise myself

I do all the ground work to make sure that the item in question can be afforded, then at some random point in time I'll just buy it. SURPRISE!

I love surprises.

i hate waiting too.
im looking forward to the zx6 for myself
i think i drive the 250 way too hard to get the good mpg
i get like 120-130 ish before i have to top off the tank.
and i cruise 80 or faster. yes i know i am speeding :x.
i am looking forward to your new zx10. if u cant sell it for the most u can get with it, u just gota understand it is used so more money than the dealership trade in value is always good.
