They still have a bear left in Jersey? That's even more amazing than the collision.

Apparently it's not that uncommon. The park ranger at Skyline Drive warned me that the bears are out and about, she said they had a motorcyclist hit one a week ago.

holy crap...must be a north jersey thing lol.

I've lived in NJ for 21 years and hav never seen a bear...in fact even with all of my trips to the Poconoes I've only seen like 1 or 2 bears in my life!

A bear?

Um, ok, that would suck.

I feel like a total jackass for this, but the title of this thread had me in laughs for a while.

Also, the bear survived. How does anything get hit by something weighing over 250 pounds at highway speeds and live to growl the tale?

I wrote out a whole figurative calculation of the impact forces involved, and erased it so i could reply with this...

I was asking how the bear survived, not the human.

This video was not an attempt to explain how the human or bear survived, it was simply entertaining and relevant to the man vs animal collision topic.

Now, now guys...remember that bear might have cubs back at home...what would happen if the little cubs never saw papa bear again? Just kidding, thought I'd throw some smart a$$ remark in for fun.
