RPM's on highway-a little high?

So, I looked but couldnt really find much on my question. Well I have but they are all lower than mine. I have an '05 -250 In 6th gear on the highway my rpm's seem a bit high. Off the top I know my speed-o is about 5mph off. say im doing 75 it's really doing @70ish. When I'm doing 80 (so thats 75mph) my rpm's are at 10k ...am I just worried or is that a bit high? I was watching a guys youtube ride/vlog with a 250 and he was at 7500rpm doing 72-75 mph on the highway. I should note that his is an '08 250 ...i know there are some diff. to the motor from what ive read... but is mine way too high for only doing @75mph? (I'm here in AZ so the speed limit is 75mph) if so is there anything I should do or look at? TIA

edit-i should also say i have read some about older gens tac's not being correct....could this be true? what should the rpm's be at -at this speed? tia

No, you're not really far off. The guy in the youtube video had different sprockets to lower the rpm's. I have stock gearing but a modded engine on a '94 ninjette. At almost any indicated speed in 6th gear I'll be running at about 1000-1500 rpm's higher then the speed indicated. So at 80 indicated I'm usually running close to 9500 rpms.

So, no your bike is ok.
