Just bought a 250
I just bought a for $ and I got it running and registered today. I rode it around and the suspension was noticeably firming than stock so looked at the shock and its some all black shock with a little knob and gas port. it's made by kawi but certainly not stock. does anyone know what it could be?
I'm searching the net for pics, I tried to take some but none come out Last futzed with by Oaklandish; March 18th, 2012 at 08:43 PM. |

looks like a this shock
That's an air line, not a gas line. if you have a shock pump, you can change the pressure in that shock for more or less stiffness. |

Oh well then I guess either air or nitrogen is good!!
Get a shock pump like what you would use for a mountain bike and play around with it a little |

I'm in the middle of moving the rear blinkers to the empty pods and cutting up the fender a little. I'm also going to fit some flush mounts in the front somewhere.

Why is the price missing in the earlier posts when everyone clearly saw "$325" there?
Awesome deal! If only I could find something like that. |

Makes you look weird editing out the price you paid ($325) unless you lied to him about what you paid for it... Otherwise there's no shame in flipping a bike for profit.

They were supposed to do that when they installed it. How did you manage to find such good deals? Craigslist?

if the reg is current and you're keeping it for yourself and can clean your own carbs, 800 is a good deal. if you can't do it by yourself try 600. oil leaks are easy
all in all, try to keep the asking price, maintenance and reg around $1000 |

Pretty sure I could do all the woork myself. Is there any common culprit in what oil leaks usually end up being on these things?
