Liquid Cooled V-Twin Will Power New Moto Guzzi Le Mans

Wet and WildMoto Guzzi is working on a liquid-cooled engine at last! After nearly a half-century with its entire range powered by the familiar air-cooled, pushrod V-twin, the Italian brand is expected to debut an all-new, water-cooled powerplant in 2013. The new engine will retain Guzzi's longitudinal layout, updated with DOHC driven by a chain/gear system and using a three-valve arrangement (dual intake/single exhaust) that allows the cylinders to be canted forward 20 degrees, increasing legroom and improving forward weight bias. The new engine is anticipated to power several models, including a new Le Mans sportbike as well as a streetfighter and adventure-tourer.
