5 months ago When I went to look at the bike the po jump started it off his quad and it did run not great but it ran. When I got it home I wanted to run some fresh gas with stabil through the carbs before winter came. With a good battery the bike would not even turn over. I found most of the fuses were blown because the po attempted to wire an aftermarket tail light. Once I separated the bundle of wires and replace the fuses the bike started only for a few minutes before I noticed it a clacking sound getting noticeably louder. All the oil that was in the bike was now on the garage floor. I quickly shut it off - what the heck felt like sabotage. Iím sure it was just coincidence but what else would I find wrong with my CL special?

I got the exhaust all mounted up, the seat covered.

Oil drain plug loose?
Oil filter bolt loose?
Side cases leaking?

Seems there's an unlimited places that can leak oil. After replacing at least 10 gaskets on my street pre-gen and still having leaks in new uncharted territory, I gave up and bought another engine that wasn't leaking.

It was the oil filter bolt. I used a k&n filter replaced both o-rings and topped er off with some Rotella T6 full synthetic. Iím only moments away from starting this thing up - fingers crossed.
