Good price, decent looking bike. Not a fan of the 650s myself. Something about the bicycle handlebars for starters...

Bmx handlebars work AWESOME! Makes slow speed handling a breeze! But to answer the op's question...it's a pretty good price for a low mileage bike....not the cheapest I've seen but considering the mileage....it's a pretty good deal! I'd offer 2800....and settle at 3k!

I had been looking at a 636 and an SV650 but I saw this. Just window shopping.

I recently sold my 2009 650R, for $4,200 but it had rearsets, sports bars and a seat cowl; if I were you I would wait for a 2009 to come up, lots of improvements that year and later years are all the same up to 2012 when more improvements coming. It is a pretty crude machine with miserable suspension and riding position but a really nice engine and transmission. So you have to spend quite a bit to make it an enjoyable ride.

I'm waiting a couple years until I start looking at bikes. But it was the 650r, in about 2 or so years I was looking at the 2012 model. But, I was also looking at the gixxer 750 and the zx6

My only comment is that the bike looks yummy! Has some of the Ninjette design and it's in red. If I was interested in getting a more powerful bike, that one would be at the top of my list. I guess you'd have to go see it to find out whether that particular one is worth it.

Love the 650R....would buy that one in a minute (after seeing it in person and a short test ride).

Sport bars and rear sets for more comfort? Lol...I was thinking about risers to make me sit further upright! Agree that the suspension is pretty bad...even with the adjustable shock...don't know how you would classify it as "crude" considering you moved onto a carbed bike? Maybe if one bought one thinking it was a SS you could get that impression, but for a guy like me (all city driving) its a pretty good choice. Good mpg, low insurance, slower than (at speed) but more torque and faster than most SS 600's off the line (unless you race, I find this very appealing).

Yes if you want to turn it into/give it the feel of a SS...you'll have to put some money into it....but if you ride it for what it was intended to be....I'm sure you'll enjoy it!

It's kind of like how I used to mod all my cars when I was younger (prelude, 3000gt, supra). As I grew older I realized instead of wasting all this money turning something into something it wasn't designed for originally, I'll just buy cars that are built the way I want (Cayman, sl, e class)

Moral...if you want a SS type/feel...pass. You want a good all around cruiser type....buy!

I really want to test out some more bikes. I would like a bike that may be more comfortable on longer rides but still sporty. I love my lil ninjette but being a big guy do feel cramped after a while.

I just want to test some.

Won't be disappointed..."comfortable on long rides and still sporty" is exactly what the 650r is....you can use the frame sliders to rest your legs on long stretches of highway

Pic of side w/o shock....pretty sporty if you ask me...Oh and it's a MUCH bigger bike than the 250 in terms of weight/overall size...

That's exactly what mine looked like. I still miss it so much. It was the only bike I owned that did everything well....or everything that I needed it to do, anyway. Supersport good looks with the good behavior, predictability and comfortable riding position of a standard. EXCELLENT highway bike.
