Supporting Bike for Swingarm Service

Hello all,

I was wondering if anybody had any ideas on how I can support my bike to service my swingarm. I bought the bike with no center-stand, it was removed to accommodate the Muzzy exhaust. Any ideas?

Use a hydraulic lift under the engine (with a piece of wood in between).

Thanks Hernan,

Is the Shock Linkage Service a different procedure from the Swingarm Service?
I've never removed the rear shock, is it difficult to reinstall on ones own?

Both services should be done at once.

No, it is not difficult if you are organized, have the proper tools and follow the directions in the article.

It is messy and labor intense.

The ladder hoist always impressed me. Use a step ladder and put the bike under it. Hoist the bike up using the ladder for a support.

3 things. Jack under the engine, ladder with straps to hold the rear end, and jack stands under the passenger pegs to keep the whole thing balanced:

Always do both the swingarm and unitrak linkage service at the same time. Your bike will thank you. But be prepared to get messy.

The shock is really simple to remove/install on your own.

A- frame ladder like above. Then get some decent ratchet straps and hoist away!

What size ladder did you guys use? My step ladder is to small to go over the bike. Should I get an 8 foot step ladder or will a 6 footer be adequate?
