Noob in Vancouver Canada

Hey Guys,

Just got my 2003 ZZR 250 a week ago. My bike's got 15,500 km (about 9500 miles). I'm hoping to increase that ASAP. Still investigating how the ZZRs differ from the Ninjas. Different fairings, for sure. I like how mine has integrated turn signals up front.

Just did an oil change (thanks to Ninjette.org for the suggestion on using Rotella T6)!

Did my MSF in March and after some negotiation with the wife, ended up getting my bike after a long search. Still getting used to riding, but improving with each ride. 60kph seems fast. 100kph seems crazy fast. I'm sure I'll get used to it soon, but for now it's keeping my speed in check (a good thing).

Hope to make the trip up to Whistler and Squamish soon (supposed to be a great local ride).

I've always liked the look of those ZZRs.

Welcome Ray!

May I suggest you sign up for the Pitt Meadows Trackday on the 16th or 17th.
It's intended for all riders. Here's the link:

https://pittmeadowstrackdays.ca/even...eid=1667733bfb

Ps: do wait to do the Sea to Sky until you're comfortable travelling at least 100 km/hr!
There is a n00b friendly ride on Monday nights and you should start at the back and look for a tall, old guy named Steve (Fzzr on BCSB). He is usually the sweeper and will guide you right. Doesn't matter how slow you go! But whatever you do: DON'T try to keep up with others unless you are completely confident! There are a few corners that will bite you if you're not aware and capable!
Should be a great riding season this year! Enjoy!

Yes, I have heard about the noob friendly ride on Mondays. I plan to join them in a couple of weeks when I've got a few miles under my belt, and have done some more highway miles.

Thanks for the advice Bill. Hope to see you on the road (I don't mean literally).

Hey @Rainman1967;
It's just after 6pm. If you're near the North Shore and want a little practice tonight for an hour or two; I'm happy to guide you on some good, quiet streets with lots of curvy, hilly bits to help you get confident with your bike. Offer is good until 7:30 pm. That gets you home before dark if you have a restriction. Speeds are 50km/hr type of riding. We can discuss S2S and how & when to get you on it safely and with confidence.

Hi Bill. Thanks so much for the offer. Can't make it tonight, and am heading out of town soon. Would love to take you up on it at a later date. I'll contact you next week, and maybe we can figure something out. Very much appreciate the offer!

Nice! Having an experienced rider mentoring me helped a lot, so this is great if you two can connect up.

No worries. It's nice out and about to change so I thought I'd give a shout out.
Do try to do the S2S with a slow guide before you jump onto the Monday night ride.
PM me when you get back and if I'm free I'm happy to help you out. Cheers!
