Thumbs up HI! My name's Daniel, My Ninjette's name is Tina... she's sassy haha

Hi everybody, Names Daniel... Schaffer, hence the screen name. Ive owned a number of large bikes and rode for a few years but been on a dry spell for a while up until about 3 months ago when i bought this little thing from my girlfriend and i instantly fell in love

I am a tinkerer and am always obsessively learning about my machine and how to make it perform and look better. I keep searching questions i have about the bike on google and always land on this forum and someone has almost always answered my question or clarified things for me in an existing post. figured it was about time i became a contributing member! I plan on keeping her for a long long time and slowly building her into a very sassy little 250

I currently have the intake snorkel removed, two washers under the carb needles,(need 3 after the slip on) Leo Vince carbon fiber slip on, 35w 8000K HID high and low beam, and Pirelli Angel GT's oversized, 150/70/17 rear and 120/70/17 front. i couldn't stand how skinny the stock tires looked and opted for the slight performance loss with the bigger tires. haha.

I plan on next doing pod filters with a full re-jet, and adding stiffer clutch springs.

Looking forward to meeting all of you!

Welcome Daniel,

I won't go pod filters, the carburetors won't like them, they need to OEM airbox to function properly, as far as rejetting goes, hope you have access to an exhaust gas analyzer, otherwise your just guessing. Fortunately this forum has the jetting database, which other member have done their homework and posted their results, saving you time and money.

You spot on about the OEM clutch springs are weak, and should be upgraded IMHO, I don't know about the NewGen, but for the PreGen I recommend the Barrett Zx600 springs.

A member here @abhijitz is selling his Barrett set-up, help a brother out,

Personally the best bang for the buck, is upgrading the suspension, unless your a lightweight, the fork springs are weak, the rear shock on the NewGen is actually not too bad for the average person.

After that I'd personally say brakes, full floating rotor, the OEM rotor being a solid has tendencies to warp due to it design. Add some quality EBC HH, or Extreme HH pads for the front, wave rotor for the rear. Galfer makes a sweet rotor, and does offer a full floating rotor for the front.

And now it's standard greeting time,

Welcome, here are just a few things to think about,

1.Get trained and licensed MSF Courses

2.ALWAYS Wear protective gear -- ATGATT All The Gear, All The Time -- including a helmet manufactured to the standards set by a government agency.

3.ALWAYS Ride unimpaired by alcohol or other drugs

4.ALWAYS Ride within your own skill limits and road conditions.

5.Be a lifelong learner by taking refresher rider courses, and advanced rider course A.R.C.

A.T.G.A.T.T. so I may ride another day.

Hi!

That second video Ghostt posted is really illustrative, I wish they had shown, or at least described, his condition and the gear's condition after the crash. How did they film it? Seems hard to believe they'd stage that, but it's also hard to believe that a high speed camera just happened to catch a random crash.

Totally staged/stuntman, it was made by a safety company somewhere in Europe I believe.
