This made me glad I decided to go with Icon

So today I was grabbing something out of my inside pocket on my Icon Overlord jacket and found this. It was put in by Icon themselves

It gave me goose bumps because I would have never expected to find a medal of a patron saint in my jacket Very cool, made me even happier with my purchase. And saint Christopher has always been my "top" saint lol

Just thought I would share Anyone else have experience like this?

That is very cool. I just bought an Icon helmet and a pair of boots.

Wait, till some heathen communists find out about this, they will certainly complain to Icon. Luckily, Icon caters mostly to the sportbike crowd and there arent a whole lot in that demographic that would get upset over this. I have faith that if anyone were to complain, Icon's leadersihp would tell them to go pound sand.

Reminds me a bit of the brouhaha that came up with the Trijicon's ACOG scopes that are issue for the .mil. Now for those that dont know, the ACOG is a fantastic high quality piece of gear and has been directly responsible for allowing US riflemen to lay waste to countless jihadis over the last half a decade or so. Anyway, Trjicon used to produce their scopes with a discreet inscription of 2COR4:6 or JN8:12 in reference to a couple of bible verses. A schmuck by the name of Mike Weinstein from the organization called the Military Religious Freedom Foundation started shrieking about 'Jesus rifles".

Anyway, good on Icon.

My Icon jacket has the same thing and so does my fiance's jacket. They all have it, some people don't even know they have the saint in their jacket until either someone points it out to them or they start digging in their packet. I think its always in the left side pocket.

Im with georgiahooligan on this one. Little piece of metal aint gonna do squat. Its like those silly gremlin bells. Rediculas hocus pocus garbage.

Id be more impressed if they stitched john 3:16 in the pocket. At least then they'd be spreading the message of christ, instead of relying on some image of a dead guy, that wasnt even around when motorcycles where invented.

If you want to be right with God while you ride, then get right with God.

I had a necklace with a St. Christopher pendent on it. I gave it to my gf because she is such a bad driver I figured she needed it more than me. We broke up a year ago. She never returned it.

Of course, I don't need a medal, I carry that name with me wherever I go.

Not sure how I feel about that. If that were my jacket, would Catholics be pissed at me when I tore out the medallion and threw it away?

I doubt it, unless you were asking them to tear their medals out as well.

As a Catholic, I would wonder why you would throw it away, but I would leave your decision up to free will. As an American, I say/believe it's your property and you can do whatever you want to with it as long as you don't infringe on the rights of others.

Cheers.

remember, this is America, you can sue anyone for anything

have you noticed that "under god" is no longer in the pledge of allegiance.....?

Ha! Your Icon jacket only came with a medallion of Saint Christopher? My AlpineStars jacket included a leather bound copy of the Holy Bible along with an audio narration by Charlton Heston for good measure

I only know what it is from the movie "Crash."

I find it silly that Catholicism adds superstitions like this though there's nothing about it in The Bible and yet the followers act like it's part of being a Christian. Same with excommunication, deification of the Virgin Mary, confession of sins to a man, infant baptism, etc.

I just read this and ran out to see where they stuffed it in my jacket. There was a tiny little pouch sewn into the inside pocket on my Contra with the medallion in it. Pretty cool. I'm pretty sure the point of it being there is more of riding tradition and not religiously motivated. I'm also sure that little piece of metal won't save my ass, but that's not the point now is it?

Kudos for the cool details!

That's cool. Honestly, I grew up in a town full of Protestants, and a good portion of my friends in college were atheists/agnostics. For a while I considered myself agnostic, but some deep thinking and a few changes in my life lead me back to the Catholic Church. I've heard it all and even believed some of it.

I have my reasons as I'm sure you have reasons for your beliefs. Regardless, I will still pray for you.
