Rearset Adjusters

I'm new to this forum, and new to riding all together.

I've had my 2012 Ninja for about 6 weeks now.

I'm just curious what will installing a set of rearset adjusters do for me? Will it noticeably change my leg/riding position?

Is there any sort of mod or aftermarket part out there to make the riding position not so upright?

Thanks everyone.

Rearset adjusters and clip-ons will change the riding position.

Rearset adjusters/rearsets will move your feet higher and further back while clip-ons will lower the bars.

I see, thanks man.

Would I be able to adjust the rearsets, with out doing the clip on for the bars? or would that make it an awkward riding position?

Also, do you know of anywhere where I can ride pictures of the riding position before and after? That would be great help.

Level of adjustment will depend on what is purchased. Rearset adjusters will give you some different positions while full rearsets will give you more.

I installed clip-ons first which made a very noticable difference for me in riding position. The rearset adjusters allowed me to raise the placement of my knees providing me a firmer grip of the tank.

Search the forums for pictures of before and after.

Thanks for the picture man, I really appreciate it.

How do you like them? Pros? Cons?

Also do you have to change any of the linking to the shifter? or do the adjusters just bolt right on and your good to go?

Thanks.

Thanks for all the help LoD575.

I just ordered a set of Woodcraft Clip-ons. $161.99 free shipping.

Hopefully they do what I am looking for. I read reviews that some people say they make the riding position uncomfortable. The majority of reviews are great though, people say they like them. As for me, the current riding position (stock) kills my back, and over the last couple of days I have barely even been able to get out of bed in the morning. I feel like I really need to be hunched forward more.

I'm going to wait until the clip-ons arrive, and are installed before looking into getting some rearset adjusters, but I do believe I will be buying those as well.

For me they totally fit what I was trying to achieve. I have no cons! The shifter linkage remains the same other than adding an extension piece and adjusting the shifter where you want it. Pretty easy really!

Where did you get the extension piece? Did it come with your A&L Kit?

I have the A&L adjusters as well. All necessary hardware came shipped with them.
No need to purchase any additional items.

I will see if I can get some pics up tonight.

Cool, Thanks man! If you can't no worries. I ordered the Woodcraft Clip-ons, and I probably won't look into the rearset adjusters for another couple of days.

Pictures would be very much appreciated though.

I bought the ones for the 2008+ Newer Kawasaki Ninja 250R Clip-ons, with the 2 and 1/2'' riser.

Here are some pics of the A&L rearset adjusters installed on my ninjette.

The first two show the shift linkage and added hardware. I did drain the rear brake system and shorten the hose from the reservoir to eliminate the kink.

the pro is that they move the pegs up so you have more clearance to lean the bike over. the con is that moving them up just makes other things drag, but you can get rid of them (low exhaust, kickstand mount) the other con is that depending on leg length it may make it more comfortable or may make it less.
