replacing rear brakes

Is there a special caliper compression tool, or a simple trick? I got the new pads in but there is no space for the rotor. I've done disc brakes on cars, but this whole motorcycle maintenance is kinda new to me. Thanks a ton.

I use a small piece of wood that fits across the caliper piston and a large enough C-clamp to push brake caliper pistons back into the calipers on cars I work on.

I have a piston compression too, but it's too big, and the rear brakes have 2 pistons, wich I can compress by hand. I just can't get the pad that the pistons ride on pushed back far enough to get the disc inbetween, although I havn't had a lot of time to work on it.

is the pregen rear brake pretty much like the new gens? if so, take a look at this post... does this help?

kindof, but the pistons on mine are smaller. I can't post pics right now, but the pistons aren't compressing any more than they are, and I just need like an 8th of an inch. It's really frustrating me right now.

Just use a large screwdriver, while the old pads are still in, to push the pistons all the way in. It helps to remove the res. cap and remove the fluid w/ a syringe or just put a rag around it to catch any fluid that might over flow from pushing the pads in. Then put in clean fluid and pump up. The flush or just leave it if its not too old of fluid.
