is it a "water pipe"?

if its a full pipe make sure you rejet properly. correct me if i'm wrong but aside from that it shouldn't effect break in... break in is more for heat treating and seating the rings in the cylinder...

I don't know of any issues changing the exhaust early on. Change it anytime you like.

Ijust bought an '11 250r and put the 2 Brothers slip-on on mine after about 75 miles. I also put the Factory Pro jet kit on it and WOW it sounds so much better and runs alot smoother as well. If you go with the 2 Brothers and don't want it too loud, get the P1X powertip. It is the perfect balance of better sound, but not too loud. When you get on it it growls but you can cruise along unnoticed by the police when you need to.

You shouldn't have a problem at all. The stock pipe is really restricted.

You don't have to re-jet. The bike should run fine with just the slip-on. Re-jetting just helps it out alot.

the big restriction in the stock pipe is the catalytic converter in the mid pipe. the can on the end is just baffles... not terribly restrictive. you need to rejet if you change the flow in the intake or exhaust... so only changing the can at the end isn't going to really change much flow when you still have the catalytic converter

u dont need to get a jet kit for a slip-on, but I hear shimming your needles with make the bike run smoother

That is right. You can shim your needles or install a jet kit on a bone stock Ninja 250R to smooth out the idle and warm up, as well as throttle response.

You don't have to do either if you install a slip-on.

You need to do one or the other if you install a full system.
