GB- Area P New Gen Standard Exhaust

This group buy will be for the Standard version system, which was the original design that was released for the the new gen bikes back in 2008. Their Race exhaust is not included in this GB.

More info on the exhausts being offered here...
http://www.areapnolimits.com/product...-250R-2008.php

The current web pricing is as follows...
US$525.00 Full Stainless Steel System, 18" Quiet Carbon Fiber Muffler
US$495.00 Full Stainless Steel System, Standard 12" Carbon Fiber Muffler
US$450.00 Full Stainless Steel System, Standard 12" Stainless Muffler

This GB will knock $50 off the current web pricing on each system ordered, so pricing will be as follows-

US$475.00 Full Stainless Steel System, 18" Quiet Carbon Fiber Muffler
US$445.00 Full Stainless Steel System, Standard 12" Carbon Fiber Muffler
US$400.00 Full Stainless Steel System, Standard 12" Stainless Muffler

In addition, there will be discounted shipping rates for domestic and/or international orders and a 10% discount on 250R accessories noted on the Standard system website page, when purchased with a system on this GB.

US$14.95 Area P Exhaust Port Gaskets (pair)
US$89.95 Customized Area P/Dynojet Kit
US$45.00 D.E.I. - Sound Attenuator
US$79.95 Dynojet Kit # 2193, Stage 2
US$45.00 Exhaust Hanger Bracket - Black

Pic of the Full Stainless Steel System w/ 18" Quiet Carbon Fiber Muffler-

An unusual GB twist is that there will be no minimum order number needed to qualify for this pricing. If you want in, sign up below and I will PM you to get the required information. I will then pass that info on to Kerry at Area P, who will handle the transaction from that point forward.

I personally have the 18"quiet core version on my bike and can attest to the low noise level this exhaust produces. It's not as quiet as the stock muffler, but it is the quietest aftermarket, full system available for the new gen 250R. This is what initially sold me on this exhaust, but additionally have come to realize, I bought into a great company when I selected Area P. Their dedication to customer satisfaction, quality products and their continued support of Ninjette.org and it's members in the last few years has won me over as a customer for life.

This GB will be open for two weeks, meaning the deadline for adding your name to the list below will be 12midnight 08July2011. This GB is open only to members of Ninjette.org and no lower pricing can be found anywhere on the web.

As an added incentive, if 10 systems are sold, Kerry will make a monetary contribution to Ninjette.org.

Thumbs up

Oh nice going kkim, why couldn't I have the clairvoyance to know this was coming

No worries, I am very happy with my Area P exhaust. Kerry runs a great company. Shipping was super fast and this system is a great value at regular price (the dealer here tried to sell me a Full SS Yoshi exhaust for $900 ). Anyone currently looking for an ehaust should get in on this GB, you won't regret it!

I have a couple of questions about the Area P exhausts if you don't mind, the second kind of plays off the answer of the first.

1) Do we have the option of getting an exhaust with the flat conical tip as opposed to the original one?

2) If we can get the conical tip, is there a quiet module that can be installed on it? I would prefer to have the shorter 12" exhaust for aesthetic reasons, but not at the expense of being obnoxiously loud. Or, if the sound isn't actually that bad, then even better.

Hi Hyon,

Thank you for asking:

1. Yes. Same options apply, same price (as in no extra charge).

2. No. We do not have a quiet module available for the Conical End Cap at this time. But we are actually developing one which we should have available in the next 90 days. No way around it, the 12" is loud(er).

Awesome, thanks for the timely response Kerry!

I realize that evaluating what's "too loud" is a subjective thing, but from your personal taste, would you think the 12" would be loud to the point of annoying the people in a residential area as you drive through the neighborhood? I know the decibel levels are listed on the website, but I don't really have any real experience with dealing with what the different numbers mean in relation to each other

Thanks again

Pleasure. My personal taste: I like the long quiet core muffler. There is no down side. It's significantly quieter and produces the same power. That being said, both of my sons prefer the standard muffler, primarily because they like the shorter muffler style. They simply use discretion when required. They also use the D.E.I. from time to time with only the nozzle installed to take some of the edge off the higher frequency. Again, very subjective to each individual person's taste. When in doubt, I always recommend the long quiet core muffler.

Good Afternoon,

I'm really excited to see this GB pop up! After reading about the Area P exhausts and watching the racing exhaust GB (I need the rear pegs).

One quick question, I commute to Irvine on a regular basis and I was wondering if it would be possible to have Area P install the exhaust (and perhaps tune the bike)?

Thank you,

Brian

Hi Brian,

Thank you for the interest. We don't actually offer Dyno Tuning to the general public. We pretty much use it for our own R&D, the Magazines, OEM's and trailered-in Racebikes. Primarily the only exceptions we make are when we are doing R&D and/or prototyping of new systems on donor bikes.

I can recommend two facilities (if you like) who do offer both installation and tuning services that are very good and I have been friends with the owners for a very long time. One in Van Nuys and the other in Huntington Beach.

Sorry, Levi... this GB is only for the newgens (+08). We tried one for the pregens and closed it due to insufficient numbers to generate the GB minimum. Shame, cause that was a hell of a deal and I don't think I can talk Kerry into repeating it in the future, based on the lack of pregen interest.

I am always hesitant to buy a muffler because of shimming requirements. I am not mechanically inclined and would like a muffler just for the sound and aesthetics. My bike is currently all stock. This is a "full system" exhaust. Does that mean I cannot just plug and play and ride away?

yes, you should rejet with a full system to gain maximum benefit. at minimum, shim the needles.

for that matter, you should rejet/shim for any slipon, as well.

if sound and aesthetics are your priorities, go with a slipon... just seems like a waste of money to me, IMHO.

Also, thank you for turning me on to this... right before I posted that earlier I was saying to my bud, id might get a full exhaust as long as im getting an air filter and jets, id just like a nice deal; you found me just at the right time!

*New* - As of 12/15/2010 - All systems now include Area P custom exhaust port gaskets at no extra charge. Area P designed gaskets feature additional "crush volume" for superior sealing.

So does this mean the port gaskets come with the exhaust when we order it, or do we still have to note that we want them and they come for free?

Good catch. The gaskets now come with each system, so no need to order/note them separately. I guess it's listed in case someone would want a set apart from purchasing a system.
