OMG! Talihina Scenic Hwy - Okla.to Arkansas

If you live down south, you gotta ride the Talihina Scenic Hwy. The hwy stretches along the top of mountains in the Ouachita Nat. Forest - 3-1/2 hours north of Dallas/Ft.Worth. It is a two lane road with no roads intersecting for approx. 57 miles from Talihina, OK to Mena, AR. The view is amazing with around 20 overlooks (which I recommend so you don't crash while taking it in as your riding). I suggest starting in Talihina, Ok and riding to Mena, AR so you can catch lunch there - many great places to eat - where there is not much in Talihina - but a cheap place to stay over night (only 2 hotels) at the Rockin' H Inn ($57 a night). Hubby and I rode it last week (Oct.8) and the leaves were wanting to change, but now (Oct.20), I bet it is beautiful. Check out the pics

I have a buddy in Fort Smith who has been trying to get me to come out that way for that very trip.
