Anyone On Here Use - Shift Fuel Riding Shoe

I am looking at getting some new riding boots and I came across the Shift Fuel 3/4 riding shoe... I was wondering if anyone on here has them and what they think of them?

They look pretty sweet, and could double as a nice pair of sneakers for when I am just taking the bike around town.

I thought you meant "H" from the title.
I can't tell you how good those shoes are, but they look nice.

Haa if by "h" you mean helmet... I don't leave home without it... Even if it wasn't the law here. I'd rather be stuck in a helmet for a short ride then one for the rest of my life because my brains mush...

How much are they? They look good, I haven't had them myself so I don't know how they would perform. They look decent protection wise.

That's one of the least objectionable riding specific shoes I've ever seen haha. That said, even though these shoes may not have the superior ankle protection of an actual riding boot, at the very least they shouldn't come off if all the laces and fasteners are secure. Check for that when trying them on....if it comes off when everything's done up, odds are if the crash is bad enough that shoe is gonna go flying.

never cared for that style of shoe. seems to me that they don't provide much in the way of protection... but i suppose they are better than nikes.

Yes they don't provide as much protection as full length riding boots... But full lengths aren't very practical to walk around in... Going to and from school I don't feel like lugging those plus my helmet and jacket around...

Since that is 95% of the riding I do, I can totally see myself using a pair of those. Now if I owned a sport-tourer with some hard bags, then I could see wearing full riding boots, since I'd have a place to put them once I reached my destination.

They may be marketed as a motorcycle riding boot, but there's no ankle protection in them at all. At least the ends of the laces are covered up with a velcroed strap, that's about it. I personally don't like to lace up boots every time I put them on and take them off, that's just me. But they are pretty nice looking, for casual wear or good for a short ride instead of tennis shoes or sneakers or topsiders. You'd have to put them on and walk around - it looks to me like that rear end of the boot would be cutting into your achilles tendon when you walk and would be uncomfortable.

If you watch the motorcycle superstores video on them, it does have built in ankle protection, on the outside you can see the plastic and on the inside of the boot it sticks out of the leather. Again not as protective as a full on riding boot but defiantly more protection the the normal tennis shoe that I wear riding to school now...

yeah, i guess full boots wouldn't be practical for your needs. i wear full boots but can't imagine trying to work in them 8 hours a day.

i was looking at the motorcycle superstore site. i guess if i had to get a riding shoe... then i would get these... although i guess these are classified as 3/4 boots. very pricey but seem to offer good protection. they are a good compromise between full boots and riding shoes imo.

After looking at the boots on the website, I changed my mind a little. If you're only going on short commuter rides and have to wear them all day, they will probably suit the bill. The speed laces make them a little easier to get on and off.
The reviews on that site are all positive but like when you order anything online, you never know if it fits or how it feels 'till you open the package and try them on.
If you do get them, then let the rest of us know how you like them.

I am currently using the Shift Kicker shoes:
http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com...ker-Shoes.aspx
They have plastic ankle protection on the inside and a big plastic buckle on the outside of the shoe. They seem quite well made, but the buckle is a little finicky. I do like the fact that they look like a regular sneaker.

i have these, love 'em. yes i know they don't offer the same protection as a full-on boot, but they're better than tennis shoes or flip-flops. easy on, easy off - comfortable to walk around in too.
