Going American.
Well one night I was just checking out craigslist to see what kind of good deals I could find and stumbled upon my friends ad for his bike he's selling. I was pretty suprised but at the same time, not. Never really saw him out riding much and is always at work (his reason for selling).
The bike is a 2003 Buell XB9R with a slew of nice mods already installed. Here it is! Never thought I would get a Buell but lately the looks have really been growing on my and a few of my other friends have Buell's too. Just need to get things sorted out with the bank and insurance and it shall be mine! |

more pics when you get it
I have an odd attraction the the XB series Buells. Probably would never buy one, but wouldn't mind taking one for a spin or something. |

Nice bike. I'm still upset that Harley Davidson decided not to produce Buell bikes anymore.

Love that bike. The only thing I'd change is the mirrors.

Yea I'll be getting some bar-end mirrors for it once i get it and a new exhaust to really make it roar. I should have it by the end of next week or so. I'm giving him half so he can sign the title over and then i just pay him the rest whenever so it works out nicely. Can't wait to move on up to a bigger bike. I told myself I wasn't going to get another bike for quite some time but now I just latched on and couldn't let go! Such a beautiful bike. And yea it's really too bad they stopped making them as well.

Hey Nikkita -
Congrats! I got an 03 XB9R (Firebolt) a couple of months ago and I love it! It is so much fun. That looks like a really nice one. It looks like the frame is polished (?) I am certainly no expert on them, but I've done a few minor things on mine and learned a few things along the way. If you have any questions, shoot me a PM. |

I used to ride a Buell X1W White Lighting that my dad had a while back...he sold it before I realized I was going to seriously start riding. Man I wish he would of kept that bike!

Change of plans, I'm actually just paying him outright for the bike and he's driving it over in a matter of minutes! Just need to go to the DMV to apply for plates and what not then im good to go!

How is that belt drive? Is it a lot quieter than a chain?

Can't comment on the noise difference between the chain and belt drive. Usually my exhaust is louder than anything so I can't tell haha. Took it for a nice hour or so ride yesterday afternoon and on the freeway for a while, really smooth and one hell of a machine. The power behind this thing is immense. Couldn't be happier with my purchase!

Love the blue accents - levers and sliders! Yes, they have a different look.... I recently swapped out the headlight assembly for a new one.... The assembly looks A LOT light the face of the robot from Short Circuit. I swear I saw the eyes move a couple of times while I was working! Awesome bike!

Update: After riding this thing religiously multiple times a day, it is an absolute night an day difference from my 250. I had to get used to the extra weight for a little while but after the first day, I started to get a hang on it. The couple extra cc's certainly put a new meaning to 'hauling ass' and you really need to hold on once you twist the throttle. It may not be super torquey like the bigger sport bikes, but it's enough to make me happy and hear that engine roar. I'm sure I will have just as many fun times on my new Buell as I did my Ninja. Here's a few simple beauty shots I did the other day on a small road near the lake.
