I just received my tires today. Stoked to get them put on. I went ahead and order a 15t sprocket and 45t sprocket. A new chain to go along with those. Bought a chain breaker/rivet tool. Bought ebc sintered and organic pads as well. The bike is getting an overhaul. Well the beginning of an overhaul.

Looked at it, touched it,,, caressed it.
It really, just looked at it. Waiting to get it back on the road. For various reasons, mostly too many hours at work it's been down for almost 6 months or more.

Which tires did you go with?

I went +1/-2 but most of my time is spent on the open road.

Well no luck developing the directional EMP, can't legal mount the mini cannons, so I installed a rear mounted laser instead, and tied it into the brake light modulator, which will hopefully increase my chances in being seen in poor visibility driving conditions.

I plan on installing a switch to give me the options of constantly on for poor visibility driving conditions, and brake light function for every day use.

Pulled the wheels. When he went to strip the wheels down one of the rotor bolts snapped though.

Off to find bolts. Hopefully have the new tires installed and the bolt in by the weekend... And hoping on some good weather.

Yesterday I replaced my front brake rotor and broke down and cleaned the caliper! It was my first time doing it so naturally it took me 3x as long as it should have. It's done though and no more front brake pulsing!

New shoes!

120/60 front

160/60 rear

perfect fit!

Just have to wait for the rotor bolts to come in and i'm on the road.

Once i am i'll review the tiers and having that size on the bike.

why go all the way up to a 160? Other than you like the way it looks (which is a totally valid choice if that is your bag) it doesn't seem like any benefit over a 140 or 150.

I did the math on it and going with the 70 would have raised the bike a bit. I'm vertically challenged as it is so thats bad for me (the bike is lowered). every little bit counts.
The 60 is just under the stock height so its better for my purposes.

I spent Monday and Tuesday tearing the bike apart. New tires, front/rear sprockets, new chain, cleaned/painted swing arm, installed the super brace on the forks, and well waiting for the my new chain to arrive as I ordered one to short. Can not wait to get it back on the road.

Question,

I want to plasti dip my wheels to see if i like the color before I go ahead and do the full powder coat route.

Can I pull the wheel off the bike, remove the sprocket on the rear... paint... then put it back on? Or is there anything that I need to replace if I took off the wheel?

I was reading about having to replace the bearing but from what I can see if this video, it doesn't really mention anything about the 3 bearings in the rear or the 2 in the front...

To paint the wheels you don't need to do anything but remove wheels, rotors and hub then mask the bearing/seal areas..
To powder coat the wheels you need to remove the same parts plus bearings and tires .. And new bearings will be required new seals and rebalance wheels
