How long is that offer good for? That's the single day rate, right? Does the 15% off deal still work for a two day event?

15% off is good until Jan. 3rd. You would be buying a gift certificate good for 2yrs that can be used for any FULL day. I don't see an option for a 2 day ptr a 15% off, might want to give them a call before Dec. 15th (419-884-4000).

I see this all the time, a rider will buy a day and come ride. The rider wants to stay for a second day but the weather is questionable. So they buy a cert instead. When they get up in the AM if the weather is good, they use the cert at registration as a walk up. Otherwise, they head home. It lowers the rider's investment risk level to ensure they get to ride in optimal rider weather.

Sonny,

Hello! My name is Paul, and I did a few motorcycle track days at Mid-Ohio this past summer. On my first track day in June, I knew how to shift a motorcycle, but that’s about it. Never rode outside testing friends’ bikes out on neighborhood streets.

What I wanted to do was find the person in charge of the school to thank for making my experience (which could have been: “Go back to your car and sit there,”) into one that created a hobby for me and built a passion.

I was a helicopter pilot in the Navy and recently retired before my first track day. I was also a flight instructor for a number of years. I know good instructors who care when I see them, and you have plenty at your school. These guys stress safety, learning, and encourage pushing boundaries at the same time. Ones I want to certainly highlight are:

John Yager – He found out after pulling me into the pits that I hadn’t rode before, and spent a ton of time with me that first day, and each day I saw him after that. Because of John’s attention and instruction, I was actually good enough to be promoted a couple of groups the next time I came up.

Mark Junge – He was the guy in charge each day I was there. Finding out how inexperienced I was on that first day, he put me with a control rider (mostly John). Great management – I never felt like a burden – just felt like they all wanted me to learn.

Perry – rode with him and he was extremely helpful pointing out markers. Also available anytime off the track for instruction and help.

Larry – Tons of helpful info. Big help with lines – drawing them out on the paper.

There were other guys – including Chris Smith, who answered questions anytime, and gave pointers that were very memorable and helpful.

The theme of the school seems to be stress safety, not going completely out of your comfort zone, and at the same time finding small things to push performance to make riders better.

Thanks, Sonny, for encouraging that culture at your school and helping me fill the void of something I lost when I quit flying. I look forward to the summer and hitting as many track days as possible!

Best Regards,
Paul
