67 Impala or 1978 Monte Carlo

If anyone has a line on a barn, salvage or yard (on blocks lol) of a 67 Impala or 78-80 Monte Carlo please let me know. I want this to be a project car with the daughter. I am really after the Impala, but will settle for the Monte. Budget for the initial buy in is 3kish. I am not after a show car and will break out the welder and fix some rusty bodywork as needed.

Oh also, I am willing to travel to pick the car up but I can't do any west coast cars, it's just too far but for the right deal will pay to have it shipped.

Thanks for looking.

Oh, goal of the car, not a 100% factory restore. Just make a fun drag strip car (she is gunna drive ) and if it's clean enough for a car show, the that is cool too. Around my parts, cool drag stip cars find their way into the causal weekend show every now and then.

Dangit. Got a nice Grand National that would make a helluva drag car. Already has AlkyControl for methanol and the ECU chip for it too....and about 21 lbs of boost.

Way outside your budget and mileage range though.

Closest One that came up around here, around $5g. Mostly just get Furys around here.

A 78 Monte was my first car. They hold a special place in my heart.

I sold my GN last spring and am regretting it. Can you PM details on yours?

This explains so much!

Be a good daddy and get her a Nova or a Beaumont!

Or; perhaps she was conceived in the back seat of a 78 Monte? Does she know the rest of the story?

There's a few Impala's up in this corner but as you say; too far!

True story: the first and one of the VERY few accidents i had was (while parking in a tight parking lot) scratching the paint on the rear fender of a brand new Monte! Even though I took great pains to track down the owner, confess my sin and make full restitution; she was a total bitch start to finish. I've hated that car ever since!

What I think of when pondering late '70's Monte Carlos.
