Carb issue

Wife tried to start her 250 the beginning of the season to take the first ride. She started with the choke on but died when you take the choke off or turn the throttle. So, I automatically assume the carbs need to be cleaned. Take the gas tank off, drain it completely, and realize the airbox is a bigger pain in the ass than I thought. Checked the plugs while I had it apart, they were fine. Cleaned the filter, etc. Did everything short of removing the carbs because I figured I'd just put it back together and run some new fresh gas with some sea foam in it to see if that would do the trick first. Now she won't start at all even with the choke on. Checked it twice, I put it back together properly. Any ideas? The only thing I could think is maybe the fuel line hose and vacuum hoses are too high. I'm not sure if they're in the exact place they were when I took it apart. Does this matter? Like if the hose isn't going in a steep enough angle downward will it not get gas like a syphon ya know? No idea. Someone help me out.

edit: it's a 2009 250r. Out of everything I searched for in boards and youtube couldn't find videos or pictures that show exactly how to move the airbox etc so I didn't mess with it. If anyone has picture and stuff that would be great.

edit#2: lol....I shouldn't be allowed to work on bikes anymore. I just realized the clutch cable wasn't connected. I'm an idiot. Okeydoke gona let the seafoam run through lol

Good luck with the sea foam. I have a video on here somewhere of removing the carbs via moving the airbox. It don't move much but just enough to wrestle them in and out.

If it does start with choke, let it run for a minute or two, and then see if it will accept any throttle. If you can then get the bike moving at all, sometimes a brisk ride is enough to clear out what ails it. Seafoam or similar fuel system cleaner isn't a bad idea either to help the process along.

I want to see this video because working on the carbs is a mother ****ing bitch with the ****ing airbox in the way.

I swear I had it down last time till I tried to reinstall everything, and I just could get the damn airbox to slid over the carb intakes. I think it took me around an hour of work and cussing to finally get it.

Jason, it takes some time to get the boots on, as you know. You have to pick your poison. Do you want to wrestle the intake boots, or the airbox boots? The airbox side is easier imho, on the new gen at least. On the pregen I took it out.
