Oops, editing b/c of Alex's last post.

I think it would be prudent for this community to work on rebuilding those DIY's instead of bashing Kkim, especially since most people in this thread (myself included) don't know his intentions or reasons. Let bygones be bygones, pay it forward and all that.

With my limited time on the forum so far it's sad to see Kkim go. I have found several of his posts very helpful.

Though I'm disappointed in how Kelly handled this situation, I have to agree with this. Raging will get us no where. This is the internet and that affords us all a significant degree of anonymity and separation. We just need to pick up the pieces and move along. He was a strong part of this website, and while his personality will be remembered, his technical contributions are replaceable.

Well whatever. Kkim has been nothing but great to me. in fact, he helped me out even when I asked questions that I KNOW he's answered before. Plus, even before I bought my bike, I was reading through his DIY's. Because of this, I try and help out who I can. so If I've gotten snippy with people and insulted anyone, I'm sorry and I apologize sincerely. In the mean time, I will pay forward the help that I was given and continue to get from everyone on this forum, and if/when kkim comes back i will appreciate the calming influence he brings

Last relevant thread on the topic ---> link

I think that about covers it, we can continue it if needed in either of those existing threads.

Big thanks to momaru, who helped recreate each of the pictures for the woodcraft install and weighted bar ends DIY. Both of those threads are no longer on the to-do list, and we're now down to about 9 left. I think there may be some pics already lying around in the oil change thread and perhaps elsewhere, but please keep these few threads in mind to snap pictures of your own if you find yourself doing the same work...

This.
I don't know the guy personally, but I can tell older members of this site were very fond of him. As for myself personally, I think that's a sh*tty move he pulled by deleting all the photos intentionally.

I was thinking about providing an "oil change DIY," but I don't have motorcycle stands, so I'm sure mine would be a very ghetto DIY. I'm sure, though, that there are plenty of people like me who own a bike but no bike stands, so maybe I'll do it anyway...
I use a Yellow Book to hold the bike more upright.

Big thanks to areion457. whose pdf allowed us to recreate the pictures in the oil change DIY. We're now down to 8 DIY threads that are missing key pictures, and of those, the only two critical ones IMO are the carb-related ones.

KK is a knowledgeable guy who's generous with his help. For lots of us, he was the "go to" guy. Still..one door closes, anothe one opens and we're still the friendliest site.

WTheck? I thought he was busy doing other stuff. Didn't realize we were getting to him with our different persona and/or he had a difficult time accepting the change of atmosphere (more like how things have lightened up in here IMHO ).

Now, I've only known KKim through his posts when he was with Kawiforums. He was truly a great contributor and well liked & respected there and here but from having to leave the site to removing the pics says a lot about a guy if you really look into it. I'm not saying he's a horrible guy but what I am saying is it also shows a different side of him that you all may not have known about. And that's okay because we're not perfect. And that's what I was trying to show everyone when I first joined...there is no perfect world, forum, or members.

But hey...

To smash all that by killing the pics in the DIY's it's like a diffrent person did it, not the same Kelly that helped a lot if us out. I understand leaving for what ever reason but he had a legacy here. It's like finding out Cal Ripkin was on roids and beat his wife everyday or Joe Montana stole the other teams playbooks to win. I liked and admired Kelly, sadly he let me down.

The good news the threads wil be rebuilt i am sure next tech day I will help with pics and I am sure the guys will have a few DIY's to post up. I say we redo them entirely, new DIY's from the members.

I can't think of a better analogy than "he took his ball and went home." If this place was really that important to him, he wouldn't have left over something as stupid as not liking some peoples attitudes. And if that is the reason he left, well that's juvenility beyond words.

Werd to the above. Glad people are chipping in and recreating DIY threads.

The remaining ones are up in post #15 of this same thread. Most of the ones left are reasonably obscure at this point, though the last two re: carb work would likely be helpful.

All DIY's are linked from the sticky thread at the top of the tech section:
