Nope. At age 13 I was riding my Yamaha YZ400F MX bike. It's much more powerful than a Ninja 250 is. At 15 I was sneaking my mom's boyfriend's FZR 600 for late night rides through empty mountain roads.

The Ninja 250 is so much fun at WOT because it's not ridiculous. It isn't pulling on your arms. It isn't over-loading your senses. Yet it will bring you to any speed you will be limited to on public roads quite quickly. Also you will not be burning through gas like a mo-fo. My YZ400F absolutely chugs fuel. It's a fun sports motorcycle that anyone can ride.

Nope. The second I got open road, I cranked it open. Had a 500 years before and I couldn't loop that, so no worries on the 250.

Not particularly. I do remember when I was too scared to go over 35mph though. Once I got over that, I was redlining every gear. Still didn't have more pull than my Evo. The sensation is completely different though because I'm not surrounded by 3600lbs (pigfat) of car.

Within the first week of owning mine I had to see how fast it went. I used a perfectly straight stretch of road I knew extremely well. I'm still alive but looking back it was absolutely retarded. The only riding I'd ever done at that point was the MSF course and cruising around my neighborhood at 25mph.

Heck yeah, when I went WOT for the first time from a slow roll, and the bike weight shifted backwards and front end rose a bit (tire still on the ground fortunately) I freaked out lol. Afterwards I was like.. "OMG SOO COOL!"

I still remember the first time. It took me a second to realize why the throttle would not turn any more. Now I use wot almost every day. Most days I also pass 12000 rpms.

I too remember those days. Now at the track, it's "man when's this straight gonna be over so I can begin catching the 600's in the corner". But I do agree that it's more enjoyable on the 250, my 675 keeps me on edge since everything happens so quickly and by the time you look down you're doing 130mph+

Finally getting to WOT is the most disappointing day of your life!! You start out respecting the bike, not trying to get ahead of your capabilities. Then one day pulling off a red light or passing, you suddenly run out of throw and realize that's all the bike has.

until one day you realize you were doing it all wrong, and then its a serious challenge to keep the front wheel down.

The first time riding the Ninja 250, I was already racing my 675...so going WOT at 6th gear...I was pretty bored on the straightaway.

Of course I am not of the typical breed that downgrades from a 600 to a 250

In a straight line, no, I cranked it for all it had as soon as I could.

In the corners, yes, it was somewhat scary the first month or so, and to this day I know I made the right decision starting on the Ninjette to hone my skills.

With that said, now I just get irritated because I've gotten WAY to used to the tire wiggle from the rear as I rompt the throttle coming out of a corner on my 600. I also notice I get jealous watching racers on 1000cc machines. I just love the way the bike squirms as they shoot out of the corner like they were just catapult launched off of the U.S.S. Nimitz.

Why couldn't I have a normal addiction like crack? I am certain it would be less costly, and it is more than likely safer as well.

(Disclaimer: Kids don't do crack; it's bad for you.)

Well that's because crack just isn't as fun as a motorcycle....putting them together....no that wouldn't be any safer either.....
