I like the MTB as the escape vehicle. Silent, and always capable, not to mention, it would make my last few weeks on earth enjoyable; I can ride a bike all day long erryday!!. I'll take a sawed off pump-style shotgun, a backpack full of shells, and a crowbar as my weapons of choice.
@dirty nasty, whatchu talking bout bro?? BMX bikes are built for speed!! It's called a Bicycle Motocross (BMX) bike, and it's built for high-speed, short-circuit racing. I can get up to 30 easy on mine, and mine's a Haro that's meant for freestyle, not racing. The racing ones are uber light weight. BMX racing is intense!

I can book it around campus on that thing!!! So simple, and it handles so nicely. All it needs to really shine is better brakes. i could live with not being able to do bar spins if it meant I could rock a set of Hayes MX-5's like on my MTB! Then I could do real stoppies and not have to un-weight the rear to do skids.

I am thinking about going to the North somewhere in Canada..there's no one living over there so no zombies
Alaska is a great choice too, drop a match into one of those oil field and boom, got yourself a never-out campfire.

good thing about cold places like alaska is you most likely wont get outbreaks in the wintertime.

in tropical climates youll get attacked 24/7/365...

I am with you on the mountain bike. Shot gun and crowbar. A tomahawk will be a nice addition. But you might have to ditch the Mtb at some point. Then use the crow bar to get a new one.
Going for unpopulated areas is also a very good idea.

Do Zombies eat dogs? Are there Zombie dogs? I would need my side kick with me. He could dispatch a zombie in seconds. But I would not want he to ge t turned into a zombie dog. That would not be good.

You guys are coming at this as as single person. I am not single, so my strategies are different. I cant cruise around on just a MTB. My kid and wife would be eaten right away if we were all on bikes.

dude if light sabers were real they would be perfect for killing zombies as they cauterize so no blood everywhere, and you can cut heads of cleanly and safely. Also they never dull. Damn we need light sabers.

I use to work on the EA-6Tram (Target Recognition and Attack MultiSensor)... Air stricks are the way to go... THINK LASER GUIDED NAPALM... (I love the smell of Napalm in the morning)

Or maybe have a C-130 gunship make a run with his miniguns...

And they want to cut the military budget

Cruise.

There is no cruise during the zombie apocalypse. It's all out baby. Not to mention, who cruises on a full suspension all-mountain bike? those babies are meant to be flogged on!

Hmmmm, a Tomahawk/hatchet would be a good idea also. Now I'm up to shotgun+shells, crowbar, and Tomahawk. I think that would work for me!

My dog is a greyhound, so he wouldn't really be a very good sidekick, no matter if dogs are allowed or not. He's kinda lazy and snuggly

Ever try riding any distance on a BMX bike? They're quick around a track yes, but obviously a road bike on the road is going to be much faster. It's exactly like a MX bike vs. a Superbike.

And yes, I'm familiar with BMX. I've only been on the things and building and repairing them since I was 8.

Yeah after like 4 miles they start hurting.

They're a great tool for working on your sprinting muscles though! I use my bmx bike for sprint/hill training on my road bike.

ewwww... that would take forever. I could do that in an hour on a road bike. That would take like 2 hours at least because I would be dying by the end.

ps, here's my fun campus bike.

Yup, it took me about 2 hours to do so. It was weird, her mom wouldn't pick me up to bring me to her house (nor would my mom), but when I got there she'd feel terrible I rode all that way to see her daughter and she would always drive me home. Eh, I guess her mom was right about one thing, riding all that way to see her daughter was a big waste of time. Either way, I was much happier after I got my license.
