2011 250r custom exhaust

well after doing some searching and until i decide on what full exhaust i wanna go with i decided to see what i could do with the stocker.. after alot of google searching i went with this method.. fairly easy with a resipricating saw , basically cut the can in half, the part of the can left on the bike i lefts its inside alone other then punching a 1.5" hole in the preferated metal with a punch.. took the beauty ring/end cap and put the allen screws back in with nuts on the other side holding them on, then put jb weld around the inside of the chrome ring of it and the bolts so there are no leaks.. then added some more jb weld around the inside of the ring and slid it back on seems to be a noticeable acceleration difference, this is with snorkel removed and shimmed.. anyway thought id share.. sure this wont be a popular method for some since cutting is involved but for basically free, it looks better, sounds better.. performs better and guessing weighs about 4-5lbs less..loL!

what i cut off..

End product..

sound clip..

yeah.. ive listened to a ton of these exhaust threads.. they all honestly sound the same really.. some are just quiter/muffled more then others..and im more into loud these 250's just dont have the same type of sound that the big bikes do.. sounds more like a atv with exhaust IMO lol! best sounding exhaust i think ive herd to date with these is this dual setup but expensive http://www.hotmotostore.com/Totsubo-...stem_p_24.html

Agreed, ATV your right on.. That's why our exhaust is and will stay stock.

That hotmoto store one does sound good though..

me and stock just dont ever agree..lol! ive seen a few under the seat duals on youtube but i think there homemade setups.. thats about the only way this exhaust will sound different then the other aftermarket slipon/full xhaust.. run 2 pipes..but still will have the dirtbike/atv sound going on.

For me, the original stock could be actualy like that GSXR adaptations.
The best exhaust look in 250R. But your modification as well done too. And cheaper.

Best sounding one is the FMF Apex in my opinion, but nearly nobody has one.

The perforated part, that you put the hole in. It would just slide out too, since ya cut it in half. There was another baffle behind that, should have removed it.

trust me that end cap isnt coming off and yeah the preferated metal tube slides out, its only preferated in on small part of that tube actually, but there is still 2 other pieces inside there welded to that tube almost like walls blocking the airflow, one is preferated, the other is just metal but already had a hole in it connecting to the other half that i cut off, so instead of making it completely straight piped inside there i just punched a hole in one of them giving some slight backpressure.. it would be to loud without that tube in there, plus the tube holds the fiberglass packing in which in the part still attached to the bike does still have the fiberglass in it. hard to explain without pics, should of taken more of what it looks like inside there.
