That's gold, the front end is still stock though? Because an aftermarket front end could be convincing with the tail. Just the tail feels too obvious that it isn't a 1k.

so sad, to have to cover up what you have.

Still stock except for V-Rossi rim, but I've got an R1 front end that is ready to be bolted on- really seems like overkill in so many ways (like i'm not sure the frame can handle that front end)... would look awesome though.

i swapped the tail because i didn't like the stock tail, nothing to do with covering up anything... nice bonus is that the 1000 sticker keeps people guessing.
It's sticks and stones people... Anyone who is giving you sh*t about the size of your ride, doesn't deserve the time you are wasting by listening to them. Kenny Roberts on a 125 will smoke anyone of us on whatever bike we choose to ride.

The Kawasaki did not reject the Suzuki body part? That actually looks great How hard was it to adapt the 1000 rear to the ninja?

LOL- The Kawi fought tooth and nail against that Suzuki tail- actually keeping the airbox was the real challenge. The easy way would be to mount the Suzuki tail on the stock subframe- if it hadn't been mangled by PO i would have. Cut off bent subframe, welded frame to go around airbox (mostly), added tabs to bolt on the GSXR subframe- and lots of time slimming the airbox to fit between GSXR subframe.

Thank you... had a 01-02 GSXR1000 tail last year, (pic below) but the 03-04 tail is one of my all time favorites. Still need filler panels below tank, various other details before painting. 03-04 tail is prob a little too angular compared to upper and tank, but much more streamlined than the 01-02 tail.

Well it does a nice job of making the pre gen look more sporty. From you description it seems you have some fabrication skills so keep up the good work now you just need a paint booth.

I've been laughed at for riding a 250. Then I pointed out that the laughing parties don't even ride. Guess who got the last laugh.

I don't get laughed at for riding a 250, I get laughed at for getting passed by everything on the road, no matter what I am riding! (I ride slow )

Laughed at? Getting passed on a bike takes balls of steel. I feel more scared when a car is passing me than in any other situation on the road. Props to you.

yep.

This morning i lane split at a red light to the front. the guy on my right wouldn't have it and gunned his car to pass me. Only to get stopped by the next red again at the fwy on ramp meter.

Some things aren't just worth getting upset over lol.

The best way to be passed by a car is to stay in the left third of your lane, make him pass you as if you were a car. If they get too close for comfort, you still have room to move right. Riders get in trouble when they move right for a passing car, they have no room and can get brushed off the road by careless drivers.
