Bang for your buck, rearsets and clipons

So after riding a few months and getting a feel for the bike i feel like i could benefit from some clipons for sure and probably some rearsets as well. The problem is that i am kind of in money save mode and don't have a ton of cash to be throwing around (in Example $500) but, i am never one to really let quality take a hit just to save a few bucks so i want something solid but at a decent price if possible.

I don't know a whole lot about rearsets and not sure what i should be considering, (with levers, without?, adjustable? ect...)

I have put up a post in (market place, wants) to see if i can find something used a little cheaper.

So i guess i just need to get a little educated and figure out exactly what would help me out the most and what would work best to fill that spot.

Thanks in advance,
Joe

A&L Rearset adjusters. They let you use your OEM rearsets (which fold if they scrape. That was my deciding factor) they're great quality, and they can't be beat for price. I've been using mine for a full 2 seasons now and have had no problems with them.

I have Woodcraft clip ons and rear sets on my track bike and think they are outstanding. The rearsets are designed to work with either OEM brake and shift pedals or thier own. You can do like I did and buy the short kit (about $220). You can upgrade the pedals later if you decide to. But you will have to figure out a way to attach the brake light switch, think Woodcraft has an optional holder for that. Or, a few people seem to be happy with the Yoshimura rearset relocator brackets. They retail for $100 but I have seen them on Ebay for $80 occasionally.

The clip ons go for about $150 and they clear all the original body work. They are not much lower than stock but are substantially further forward. I would recommend the riser spacers too ($30). without them you cannot sweep the bars back into a comfortable position before the riser hits the upper triple clamp.

Seems like a very reasonable option, and price looks good. Do you know if on that website these sell as a set? Hard to know for sure by description, it says add to cart 1, and says adjusters plural but i would hate to assume anything.

Do you have any good photos of these bad boys on your bike?

Thanks

^yeah that is what my research is pointing at. The fact that i can get them complete with risers and know that they will work right on the 250 is a huge selling point. Plus all the positive reviews don't hurt.

^^ talk to Richard from Racebikerentals. He's a member on here, and I know for sure he has the best deal on WC stuff anywhere on the web. I got my WC lowered risers for my pregen from him. He was about 10% lower than anywhere around.

Plus he's a pleasant person with a good reputation here

I agree ... woodcraft on both! However, I couldn't use the Woodcraft with the exhause system I have, so I had to go with svracingparts.com rearsets. Turns out they were pretty trick and game me plenty of space for the exhaust.
Needless to say, I have a brand new pair of Woodcraft rear sets with pedals I'm needing to get rid of!

EF! I would love to take those rearsets off your hands but unfortunately i think i am going to have to get the A&L adjusters to save some cash to get the clip ons. I'm broke as a joke (or at least i don't have much money to waste or toys ect...) bummer

I use Vortex Rearsets on my 250, and my 300. They're not cheap by any means, but in my opinion well worth the money. The grip and adjustability you get is unbeatable.
I also agree 100% with Woodcraft Clipons.

Those are pretty nice, looks like they combine some of the A&L adjuster tech with aftermarket rearsets and levers.
