[American Motorcyclist Association] - Riders demoing new motorcycles, helmets at AMA
BMW, KTM, Schuberth Showing Off Their Products
Two major motorcycle manufacturers are offering demonstration rides of their bike lineups this weekend during AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio. BMW Motorrad and the KTM Ride Orange program have dozens of motorcycles available for rides throughout the day. For those who didn’t bring along a helmet, Schuberth North America can provide one. BMW Twenty BMW motorcycles, including 12 different models, are on the grounds, including the S1000RR. Barry Snyder, BMW product specialist and ride leader, said the company missed the 2014 AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days, but is glad to be back. “We started slow on Friday,” Snyder said. “But things got rolling as the day went on.” Brian Perry and Darrell Kincer, both from Lexington, Ky., were among the riders waiting for the BMWs. “I’ve been doing demos here for a long time,” Perry said. “I am just trying out stuff. But he was waiting for his ride on a KTM. “I really am interested in that 1190 Adventure,” he said. “I want to feel how it handles on the road…and maybe a little off-road, if they let me.” Schuberth Before heading over to register for the KTM demos, Sexton stopped by the Schuberth booth to pick up a helmet. Jen Muecke, Schuberth’s sales manager for the Great Lakes region, said anyone taking a demo ride during AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days can grab a helmet to use. “This is our first year doing this at VMD,” she said. “We are not selling anything here. But we do have all six helmet models available for demo in all the sizes we carry.” Requirements All riders are required to provide:
