People who say things like that have zero experience with 250's.

Your friends have the collective intelligence of a small rodent and have never ridden a 250. Ignore what they say, get the 250, master it, and make them all feel like they have tiny packages when you kill them in the twisties.

Sorry about that, you are correct. Redline in top gear is in the 105 range; I meant that most stock ninjettes won't get anywhere near there on flat ground and no wind aid. A true 95 - 98 on GPS is a more realistic showing of what the bike can get to on the top end (while indicating 105, 110, or even a little more on the speedo).

But to the OP - I'm taller, and the earth has a greater gravitational pull on me, and have no problem riding the ninjette at any desired speed on the public roads.

Finally found a place to top mine out a little while back. Ran out of rpm at right about 115 indicated. But I'm full area p/jet/k&n pod. No downhill and the last part was slightly up a grade.

I'm 250-260lbs geared-up and have been over 100mph.

I'm 180 or so geared up and 6'1" tall (I'm a big ole' wind sail) and have no troubles hitting 105 indicated. Well, I need to tuck in really well. Otherwise I'm too tall and the wind catches me and limits me to 95-100 indicated.
