Question about my helmet
So, picked up my gear. I got an awesome Joe Rocket jacket that the wife picked out, nice Icon gloves and a helmet with an inner, retractable visor for when the sun is kickin'.
The problem is that I picked up the helmet because it was the only dual visor one they had, but I have never heard of the brand. I have done some research and found that they are pretty new and would like to hear if anyone has heard of them or might have personal experience with them. It's a Zoan Defender: |

Also haven't heard of Zoan but have seen one or two on shelves at moto stores.
As for the visor idea, I like it too. Been considering getting a Scorpion EXO-1000 myself

Well, I did some more research today on the helmet. I found out that the brand has only been around since 2009, but it is distributed by a company called Marshall Distributing.
A really nice note to the helmet though is that it is ECE 22.50 approved. Had to do some research on that too, but found that it is THE safety standard for most of Europe and that it exceeds our DOT standard by quite a bit. Needless to say, I was a little worried about it being a new company and if they were safe enough and it seems to be a damn good deal. I plan to write a review on it after a few months and see how it holds up. |
