[visordown.com] - New Drift Stealth 2 action camera
ACTION camera specialist Drift has launched its eighth generation camera, the Stealth 2. The S2 is the firm’s smallest, lightest and most aerodynamic action camera to date but is still able to shoot full HD at 1080p/30fps, 720p/60fps, all the way down to 120fps in WVGA quality for slow motion footage. It has a 300-degree rotatable lens to align the shot, Wi-fi connectivity for video streaming and remote controlling via the Drift Connect app. Further features include a claimed three-hour battery life and a built-in digital LCD screen for adjusting settings. At 3.15 x 1.67 x 1.08 inches and weighing only 97g, the S2 is 48% smaller and 42% lighter than the Drift Ghost range. However, it still retains a number of the Ghost’s features, like timelapse, photoburst, video tagging, and ‘Car DVR mode’ for looping recording for on-bike security. Drift’s colour-coded LED system behind the screen enables users to see the current shooting mode and if the camera is recording. Unlike a number of other action cameras which feature a 170-degree FOV - which can make objects seem further away and smaller than in reality - the S2’s FOV has been reduced to 135-degrees, which Drift say makes objects appear closer and sharper than before. Surprised at the direction they went. This camera seems more like a good 2nd camera for picking up miscellaneous stuff or for insurance purposes, etc. I still love my Drift HD Ghost, great camera and now they may even be cheaper.
