My temp and oil light came on??

So today I was sitting at a light between two cars going to make a left (two left turn lanes) when the light turned green I ripped around the corner and didnt shift until I straightened back out, at which point I was just about to rit redline. Shifted to second and used that gear till ~11k ~12k, then had to slam on the brakes because the next light just changed to yellow and I knew I wasnt going to make it. I used all my front brake and it skipped a little (no big deal, its happed many of times) when I looked down at my gauges I noticed both lights were on just for a second or two. My only though was all the oil shifted to the front of the bike because of the stop? I really dont think the bike was actually over heating because it wasnt that hot out and I've been much harder on her before. What do you guys think

sorry for the long post!!

Long story short, I used only the front brake really hard, came to a stop and the temp light and oil light came on for a second or two

Happens with the oil light from time to time under hard stops. Check your oil level just to confirm it's up where it needs to be, but it's likely fine. Don't know why the temp light would come on as well though, I can't remember seeing that.

Normally when you start the bike the lights come on, and they also come on if you hit the kill switch and stop the engine with the key still on. Im thinking when you hit the breaks, the engine stuttered, and it sent the signal to light em up.

dang kevin, speed racer
one time i had to e-brake to avoid a truck cutting me off and it stoppied a bit... it threw all kinds of lights at me but they went away... didn't seem to do anything. when i first had her i mucked up a shift into 2rd pretty bad and it did the same thing... i think as long as they turn back off its fine...
i mean... your bikes screwed, you're better off bring it to me for... retraining. :-P

Been talked about before, its normal. Temp light is wired thru with the oil pressure switch. Poor mans way of a bulb check when key is first turned on.
