Been lurking for a bit, and decided to join

Don't have a bike yet, waiting for the 2012 Ninja 250's to arrive up here in Canada.....

Well I did/do have an older Suzuki 750, but she is resting in the garage, needs restoration, and I need the time

Looking at the 250 as a commuter bike, I think it will full fill my needs

Thanks for all the Welcome's.....

We are actually getting 2 bikes, and neither will be black,,,,it's a safety thing on my part, as one is for my older son, and I really don't want to try and keep a black bike clean....

So one will be in the Red and the other in the Green......

Ohh and no Christmas jokes....LOL

Can't wait for the Toronto Motorcycle show,,,,gonna try and strike up a good deal there with one of the vendors, I am thinking, they will make a sale, and the bikes won't even have to take up showroom space, as they come in, they will go right back out the door.....

Welcome. These 250s make great commuters and also do great during more sporty and enthusiastic riding.

Nope, actually no affiliation with the show at all, just can't get the 2012 at any dealer right now, so being hope full they will be available at the show, or at least we can strike up a deal with a dealer.

It was easy to figure out, my son wants the red one, and so that left me with the green, which is OK with me......

I like the fact they are great beginner bikes, this is good for my son as he has never been on a bike, he did take the course at the local college so he is already on the right track, and for me it's a step down, but that's OK, I am looking for the commuter part of the bike.....

not to say we won't be hitting the roads for some sporty and enthusiastic riding as well......

Don't buy your son a brand new bike! Owning a new vehicle is awesome & I love that I'm the first owner of my 250R, but the inevitable first drop/crash will happen... That's when you think, "Damn... I should've gone used..."

I agree with you.....but it's his cash.....not mine

one has to learn the value of money at some point in time

plus if he pays, hopefully he will appreciate it and take care of it more

Just a quick update on this thread......

Bikes have been purchased today....we missed the Toronto show, so we went today to the International Motorcycle Show, and struck a deal on 2 bikes, and even got them cheaper than a few weeks ago when I was at one of our closer dealers out here and what I thought then was a good deal, today's was even better, plus about 500 bucks in other things, and if Kawasaki offers any other discounts between now and the day we pick up the bikes (probably May 1st) that discount will be applied as well.

we all know what the bikes look like, but these were on the floor at the show, and are what we will be picking up, only new ones....
