Effects of putting on an aftermarket exhaust

This topic probably has been beatened to death but I just wanted some clarification.

1. What are the effects if putting one on and keeping the snorkel on the airbox?
2. Does the engine breathe easier?
3. Do you run leaner? If so, at what Rpms?
4. Any short/long term effects of running a more free-flowing exhaust without any additional mods for compensation?

I know if you remove the snorkel or any type of restrictions for incoming air you would run leaner, and that's where a jet kit comes to prevent the motor from running too lean.

I have the rejet kit already. I just need to get around to installing it. I posted this because I just wanted to have some background knowledge.
