Possible Tire Wear Issue?

So here is the story, i got a brand new set of Bridgestone BT-003RS's for my race bike and took them to the track. I finally got the chance to use the tire warmers that day so it was the first time i had ever used the warmers. I ran pretty hard all day and kept alot of heat in the tires so they were pretty much a consistent temp all day. The pressures i ran were 28/28 HOT. At the end of the day i looked at the tires and saw that they had worn fairly even but there is a strange line about an inch from both edges of the rear tire... it connects all of the tips of the tread grooves all the way around the circumference of the tire. I heard that this may be known as a hot tear? If this is normal and im just paranoid please let me know, but if not... id like to make changes to the setup of the bike so that the tires wear in the most ideal manner. thanks!

I believe you are seeing the transition from one rubber hardness to the other. If I remember, the 003RS are triple-compound tires. Its normal, and I've seen it on my Aprilia RS250 running those tires. BTW, 28/28 hot is pretty low.... I'd try 28/28 cold.

It does look like a compound change. I know they are very noticeable on my BT-016s

yep totally normal, thats the stickiest of the icky right there. From the look of it though, you're not getting enough heat into the rear tire... I used to run the bstone 24psi cold 27 psi hot. Or just go faster.

Actually just switch to the pirellis.

You are probably right about me not getting enough heat in the tires....haha im still a noob and barely have any track time under my belt. And from the way you have been bragging about those pirelli's i may have to give'em a try!

We run the Stones at 29F/26R hot and they work well for us.
