The ninja is gone, replaced by Gixxer 750

Well, Never thought I would end up with a supersport let alone a 750cc. But the price was right and the bike is in fantastic condition for an 05. Mechanically perfect, cosmetics are great too, most people would leave it as is, however, I'm a perfectionist so it gives me plenty of work to do The bike has 8500 miles got it for 4100!! Yes, it has a 6" stretched swingarm, but the bike rides liek a dream. After some random nuts and bolts are changed, and the bike is cleaned up and the suspension is tuned to me (it was lowered for a short female rider), it will be PERFECT. I LOVE IT SO MUCH

The cornering isn't bad, it will handle much better when it's raised due to the former owner's small size/weight.

I can't do much about the swingarm right now. (trust me, it's my least favorite part about the bike) I'm thinking about putting up a trade offer on craigslist for the stock swingarm + chain for my swingarm + chain. But as of right now, I have to deal with it haha

actually, I've been looking it at, the kit is $350 dolllars and it's just an extension, so hopefully I can get it removed and put a normal one one.
Going to a suzuki dealership and getting the stock parts to remove the swingarm, and a chain link remover to put the bike back to stock! Adjusting the suspension a little today.

Aside from the fugly hideous swingarm, did you have any issues with the power difference between the ninjette & this sucker?

I know the swingarm is ugly It actually looks much better in person though, not that I'm a fan. The swingarm is coming off and i'm getting the stock parts from suzuki tomorrow.

The power difference is un-imaginable. I've ridden a couple bigger bikes so I knew about the throttle and everything but I stopped it on a freeway entrance to do a 0-60 run... the amount of g-force that the bike brings upon you is absolutely horrifying. Doing that a couple times is a very humbling feeling. I know how insanely powerful and ready to kill me this bike is. I havn't lifted the wheel due to the extended swingarm but this bike is so powerful and scary. I love it because of how easily it just gets up to speed, no more winding out the gears to get to 60mpg quickly. I can do it quieter then my 250 could because the engine has to work so much less. I love it, I've always been a gixxer fan but I never thought i'd be able to afford one as my second bike. I understand why so many first time riders kill themselves on 600cc and up supersports, they are just brutally unforgiving. And the cornering does suffer, I learned that today, I'm very excited to get it tuned up to my spec so it performs how I want it to.

But did anyone else notice how the rear tire is brand stinking new?

Nice, I have an 02 and 08 750. Plenty of power for sure and you can just roll on in 6th gear all day. Those tires aren't the best but they are certainly capable of any street duty. Just watch it when it gets cold that last pair I had took forever to warm up.

Congrats on the upgrade,..., something must be wrong with me because what others saw in those pictures as being wrong (swing arm), I didn't even notice, it was the utter lack of protective foot gear that had me worried...don't justify the people who equate gixxers with squids. Boot up bud.

In all reality jeans aren't any better. how many people put holes in their jeans falling off their bicycle as a kid? and you were going what 10mph? So how are jeans going to help at 30 or even 70mph?

I do boot up, this is one of the few times where I simply couldn't wear the boots. Almost always wear them and everyone knows it's not always possible to go ATGATT

Same here.

And to the response about not always being possible to get ATGATT - untrue. It's always possible to crash and it's always possible to be fully geared when you do. Protect yourself ALWAYS and enjoy your new beautiful bike. I'm jelly.

Thanks guys.
Well I do appreciate all the people promoting ATGATT, as I also advocate it to anyone that wants to start riding. Its better that you guys get on people's asses because of gear and it could be completely the other way... some people call people in gear pussies. IDK where they get those ideas...

Also, washed and waxed her, replaced any bolts that were rusted, and now tomorrow I'll put new grips on her, tune the suspension, and get a quote on how much it will cost to get the swingarm back to stock spec.

I NEED TO NAME IT!

I also noticed that I have a full yoshimura exhaust system on this bike, thought it was just a slipon but it goes all the way to the headers

Also people, try not to ride 600cc motorcycles because it made me fall so deeply in love with the power that the 250 had to go.

I've ridden 600s. I LOVE the power. But I still love my 250. Unfortunately I admittedly do more stupid stuff in an effort to keep it exciting.

Don't do that.

Also.

$150 on a 750cc is holy **** territory, as in holy **** that's cheap...

It would cost me £1100 ($1700) here

Wow thats insanity... 1700 a month? My insurance is so inexpensive because I have a completely clean record. (Not very common for a 19 year old male with cars and motorcycles). That also includes collision (1k deductible),comprehensive (500), and I forget my other premiums on liability but they're good too.

I think for $4100 you could have gotten a better bike but so long as you're happy that's all that matter.

I highly doubt I could have gotten anything more for 4k, all the bikes in the 04-06 range were priced at 5-5500 and had 10-22 thousand miles. This bike was listed at 5k

So that swingarm is a bolt on kit, Right?

If so if is pretty simple to get it back to stock. Just remove the extensions. And get a new rear brake hose and chain from your local dealership.

Yessir, thankfully the swingarm is a bolt on, the dealer was closed today... idk why, but I'm getting a quote on a new chain (or link remover) and and other small bits and pieces and I hopefully will have it back to stock by Wednesday or whenever I get around to it.

So give us the differences.....between the ninjette and gixxer.
Lol I know the swingarm doesnt look the best but geeze its not THAT bad. Just boughr new grips and some plastic clips and ordered a spanner wrench. I got a quote on the adjustment blocks i need to take it back to stock and I need a chain breaker to change the length then Ill be all set.

Differences between ninjette and gixxer:
The gixxer had mucg better braking power, it doesnt fall into the corner but it corners well even with the extended swingarm and im really excited to see what its capable of with the stock swingarm length.
The gixxer is so unbelievably fast it blows my mind. I can cruise at freeway speeds in 3rd gear and hit ridiculous speeds just in a first gear run. It feels great cruising on the highway. Its power band seems to be everywhere compared to the 8k and up on the ninja. The digital gauge is great and Im even getting 35-40 mpg which is decently close to my 45 on the 'jette. I lo lve the gixxer it is a mean piece of machinery
Also, the riding position is MUCH more bent over. This thing is not very comfortable to ride long distances but I do it anyeays
