What is the max speed of your bike?

What is the top speed of your bike ?
Mine one is stock 2008 and today I've reached the notch after 160, which means ~ 165 km/h. ( approx 103 mph ).
A friend of mine was riding behind me and told me that his own reading was 180 km/h.

Assuming that my top speed is 165 km/h ( 103 mph ) how is that archived :

Should I change the exhaust system or to go for fuel with higher octane number?
What kind of mods will help will help me to increase the top speed.
I think this bike should make at least 180 km/h ( ~ 110 mph ). Easily!

P.S. : Ninja 250R 2008 Fuel Injection , no mods ; Fuel octane number 95

regear it lower (bigger CS sprocket, smaller rear sprocket), then do all the mods you can to the engine to pull that gearing.

Indicated 105...I could have pulled more, but I don't like to push it too much.

Hopefully when I can finally attend track day I will know my max lean angle.

My max speed is about 80mph, my bike on the other hand could go faster lol. I'm not ready to tempt fate with trying to hit 100mph here in central Florida.

111 indicated downhill 250 rider forum has a calculator for speed it adjusts for tire size etc.. my 111 is like 101.9 actually

I have hit 85 on the freeways here in socal, BUT I was trying to keep up with traffic, (I couldn't) Plus the roads are kinda rough (Whoever it was that came up with the hairbrained idea to put concrete pavement on freeways needs to be strapped down on a flatbed, with no suspension, wearing a pink tutu and forced to ride the highways at 80 mph during an ice storm and a earthquake). Plus, IMO, the bike is not too comfortable at that speed, to me it is more comfortable around 65 or 70.

I went up to 150 KM/H and it seems mines stops there. I had a giant backpack so maybe thats why I didnt get to 160... oh and 150 is actually really only 135 KMH GPS speed rolf !

Just the other day I did this. I got it up to 110mph indicated. So with a 10% error that would be about 100mph.

I was completely maxed out, 14,000 RPM in 6th gear. There is no possible way for me to get more unless I adjust my gearing... which I am.

I should have my 15 tooth front sprocket in next week.

Ive had mine up to 105 indicated once, most of the time it runs out of steam right at 100. I really wish It had a little more top speed, the people around here cruise the hiways here around 85 so I hit top speed multiple times a day trying to stay slightly faster than traffic.

i haven't tried out the top speed yet, not sure where i can do it safely atm... there are some road works in progress that are fixing the stretch where i tested the top speed of my old ninja 150, but ill have to wait and see what they make of it. im also waiting to reach about 1000 Km so that the break in is set in more (just reached 300Km, and did my second oil change yesterday).

i already miss the feeling of speed that i had on my old ninja, but i feel safer knowing that i can't go 190 km/h on the crappy roads here, lol

however i do feel the urge to change the sprockets so that first, second and third gears feel a little more useful, and adding some mods for the additional power needed to push the lower gearing. i don't plan to go about pulling wheelies, since i value my body, and my bike too much to try stunts that i know will most probably make me drop the bike.

however ive noticed that my bike might be one of the "few" that have been tuned a little richer than usual. i don't have to use the choke to start her up even if shes been sat there for a whole day or two, i don't have the lag in power in the lower rpm range (well as long as i keep the rpm around 3~4k when i get going). but with the default gearing that the bikes comes with, i find that i have to hop up to third gear barely after i take off. this is slightly annoying in the stop-and-go traffic that we get here all too often, i find myself constantly flipping through the gears just to come to a halt again, and having to go back down to 1st xD

ive heard people say (on the Indonesian forums) that you can push the 250 up to 200Km/h with enough power mods, but all of those mods added up, plus the price of the bike, might cost as much as just buying a stock 600cc bike, which can easily reach 200+km/h, so besides the challenge of making the bike go that fast, i don't really see the point... oh, and i wonder if they are referring to a GPS reading of 200, or the speedo... since 200 on the speedo would me more like 180 km/h, lol

next time i go riding with my gf, ill have her hold the gps and get a reading, since i don't have a bracket for it. i'm curious just how badly my bike is calibrated.

If you want to change the sprocket, it's said that it's the same as the one on the older 250 so good news there.

I'll be changing mine out next week. $17 for a new sprocket, you can't beat that.

I changed out mine to a 15T and I love it. Does great going down the hwy at 70 or 80 the engine does not over rev.

14/41 sprocket combo Area P full exhaust Dynojet kit 100 main pulls to just shy of redline in 6th or about 108 mph + or -(true speed) Rider weight and aero is a major factor. Get some good fitting gear and tuck in best you can and stop eating all those bon-bons. Im at 138ish lbs That seems to be the best you can hope for without the addition of another 10 horsepower. As far as the lean angle goes, get some rearsets. The little 250 is more than willing to drag the pegs.

I did a bit of top-speed testing yesterday on the highway. On a flat section I topped out at around 165 km/h, according to the speedometer. 2009 fuel injected model. I had loose jeans on, and my jacket also isn't tight, so with a tight racing outfit I guess I could've gotten up to 170 or so.

Going slightly downhill, I hit 170 km/h, with if I remember correctly, a bit under 14000 revs in 6th. So I could've probably gotten a little bit faster, still.

The official top speed of my EX250K9 is 160 km/h. Taking into account that the speedometer is probably a bit higher than the actual speed, I'd say that the official value is accurate. So when people ask me what the max speed of my bike is, 160 km/h is my answer. Going downhill, having wind in the back, cheating, of course.

I have hit 110.371 in April of 2009 at Maxton North Carolina on my 08 250 ninja .If you take the 10% speedometer error into account that is 121mph on the speedometer.The fifth fastest speed set at Maxton 's monster mile by a four stroke 250. I hope to up it in September.

The fastest speed for a 250 ninja is 119 mph set in May. That would be 130 on the speedometer..That bike had nitrous and some engine mods . I am sure it can go a little faster.

Depends on if my oscillation overthruster is in alignment with my gweebo disk, allowing the dilithium crystals to funnel ectoplasmic energy and allow the flux capacitor to reach resonance at 88mph, thus implementing the completion backwards principal, allowing me to accurately predict how many pancakes it would take to fill up a dog house.

In all reality, though, I hit 99 on the GPS, and not knowing how much more it had to give before the rev limited ruined my day, I backed out.

mine is ~160km/h....i have seen the needle hit ~164km/h but that was down hill with the wind lol. I still want to check gps.

I rode to work with a friend yestreday. his 07 gsxr600 speedo said 130, my bike said 140. (he has some speedo calabration thing that he said is off by 6.5%) whatever that is all about i'm not sure. lol

our 250r speedo seems to be about 10% too fast, so your speedo reading @ 160Km/h is in reality about 144 km/h.

the Gsxr has a more accurate reading i guess, since 140 - 10% = 126 km/h, and he was getting a reading of 130 km/h

The Bonneville salt flats in August to early September is not a mile but up to eight miles flat out.
Or The Texas mile if you want concrete.I don't know of anything in California . I am going to BUB at Bonneville after Speed week in late august early September . To see the fastest motorcycles on earth go 350 mph. Do you want to race or watch?

I have plans out here if I can get a place to do a mile run. I'm shooting for 115MPH+ and thats not a typo. I may try to get the airport my hanger is on to allow a speed run event there it would be awesome. If not I'm going to set my sights on the 1/4 record for ET and speed.

post up if you get into the 13's in the 1/4. I never could. Then again I didnt crack the motor open either. With another 50cc's 13's would be no problem but I havent seen that "big bore" kit yet. I did run a best ever 14.2 with a roughly 14.5 avg.

I still want to check gps. I rode to work with a friend yestreday. his 07 gsxr600 speedo said 130, my bike said 140. (he has some speedo calabration thing that he said is off by 6.5%) whatever that is all about i'm not sure. lol

Or The Texas mile if you want concrete.I don't know of anything in California . I am going to BUB at Bonneville after Speed week in late august early September . To see the fastest motorcycles on earth go 350 mph. Do you want to race or watch?
