What the *pop*?

So its been a few days since I've rode my bike, due to excessive rain, and working a lot. So I start the bike up today, shift into first, and just as I'm letting go of the clutch to coast down the isle way I hear a loud pop. I paused for a second, the engine was still running okay, so I let it run for a bit to warm up then rode around for a bit. Anyone know why this happened, and should I be worried?

Was it an exhaust pop? Or mechanical pop?

It's normal on NewGen, due to the PAIR system. I've read that there's a modification and kit to eliminate the PAIR system, like the one for the EX500.

About every 100 starts or so, I get a backfire/pop. Tried to find it, ruled it down to what was mentioned above. Gotta love carbs.
