2008 250 - Front sprocket retaining washer

A while ago my front sprocket almost came off. I lost the washer it came with.

I called the shop that did the work, they gave me a new bolt and washer.

I know that you're supposed to bend the washer against the bolt. Well, the washer they gave me was too small and the bolt completely covered it. I called back again and asked them if they had a bigger washer. They didn't.

I have no where else to look. I have looked and looked for a washer that will fit my front sprocket and that will be big enough to bend. I have found nothing.

Soooooooooooo, do any of you guys know of somewhere that I can buy a washer that I need.

EDIT: Just to clear things up, I need a bigger washer for my front sprocket. I have OEM nut and washer but the nut completely covers the washer and there is no way to bend the washer to the nut.

I have added Loctite and the nut still moves with every ride.

Exactly this. OP, assumed you meant nut instead of bolt. Just make sure to torque the nut to spec.

Is the washer the one in the picture? And it fits on the splines? Then you have the correct part, sounds like you got the wrong nut. Look for the correct nut, a bigger nut and washer won't fit properly.

I'll look for it. The shop I went to already gave me the OEM washer, but it was not big enough to be bent and the told me that it's the one that comes up when he searches the part number.

That's why I haven't looked at any OEM online part stores.

I meant neither. I'm talking about the washer in the picture.

I did torque it down to spec., and it's still rotating the nut. I have also applied Loctite to the nut and I can still see that the nut moves every time I ride. I placed markings on the nut to know.

Well, I didn't take that picture. Sorry for the confusion. It's just a picture I found online so that you guys would know what I was looking for.

The Kawasaki dealership gave me both the nut and the washer. They are both OEM and the nut completely covers the washer. I looked at my friends bike and his bike has the same nut I have but his washer is a lot bigger and is bent. He bought it used so he never added the washer himself so I can't ask him where he got it from.

I am thinking the shop sold you the wrong washer, they are denying it because they don't want to admit fault for knowingly putting the wrong washer on your bike.

And that's WHY YOU SHOULD look at an OEM online parts store, spends a few bucks and buy one and see what comes in the mail.

That is the washer listed on one of the OEM parts places I just looked at, BUT there is an original number that looks like has been replaced by this part. This number is the original parts number 92200-0506

Totally agree on the shop screwing you over on the washer.
Just order one online and call it a day and never go back to that shop.
I order most everything online unless i have to have it now and go to a shop or dealer for something, unless it is an oil filter or air filter.

I always shop online for parts, it's where I got my chain/sprockets/spark plugs/ignition switch/diaphragm and other things.

:/ that one seems to be the same washer I had put into my bike.
I'll have to go home and check the size again, but I'm pretty sure it's the same.

The one my friends bike seems to be about twice the size of that one. I've read so many other places of people bending their washer and replacing it every time they do a sprocket job but I never saw a link or anything that pointed me towards where they got the new washer.

Best I can do is check what I got when I get home.
