NINJA 250r DEAD HELP ASAP A
Hey so I changed my spark plugs and my ninja 250 ran real good. So I decided to elavate that performance with some love and care by cleaning it’s guts with sea foam. Then it started BOGGING so I was like okay there’s something stuck in the carbs and followed pwn Jones https://youtu.be/ENc8Ssmjyt4 —- and it now doesn’t even start. Can some send me the hose wiring in the carbs and gas tank because I cleaned the hoses but now I don’t know which ones go where. As in from gas tank in particular. I live in PICKERING Canada so the California ones aren’t helpful.

Hi Mohammed and welcome to Ninjette!
Hmmm, I think this is a case of leaving good-enough alone. Bike is very well optimised from factory and is super reliable when maintained. Just need to fill it with petrol, chain oiled occasionally, engine-oil changed once a year, valves checked every couple years and it should run forever.
There's some diagrams of hose-routing somewhere, lemme see if I can dig them up... |

Try this guide: https://www.ninjette.org/forums/showthread.php?t=307413
1. Note that you don't have California model, there is no T in vacuum-line going to coast-enricher. It should be just one continuous hose. 2. Second vacuum line goes directly to petcock vacuum-inlet 3. vent hose from tank goes down next to shock aimed at ground 4. vent hose from centre of carbs goes back between air-box runners down next to shock aimed at ground For misfire, you may want to try fuel-system cleaner with strong dose of PEA. More than just jets needs to be cleaned. All internal hidden/secret passages between jets and carb-venturi needs to be cleaned. Basically need to mechanically scrub entire flow-path of petrol from tank to intake-valves. - Red Line SI-1 - Techron Concentrate Plus - Gumout All-in-One - 3M Max Strength Fuel System Cleaner #08814 - Royal Purple Max Atomizer 18000 For real carb-cleaning, you need lots more equipment and lots more elbow-grease: https://www.ninjette.org/forums/show...7&postcount=11 Last futzed with by DannoXYZ; September 7th, 2020 at 10:13 PM. |

If hoses are correct, then something else is wrong.
First, test for air-flow/compression: - put plugs back in - place tissue-paper over end of muffler - crank engine Does tissue-paper get blown off muffler? Does air coming out of muffler smell like petrol? Second, manually test petcock flow: - disconnect fuel-hose from carbs and aim into measuring cupo - apply vacuum to petcock vacuum line. - time flow for 30-seconds (use stopwatch) how many CCs of petrol did you collect in 30 seconds? Third, test for spark: - remove plugs from engine - insert into plug-wires - lay plugs on top of engine so case of plugs are grounded - crank engine. What colour spark do you get? |

All I have to say is that video is a terrible way to clean a carb.
Pull them out and clean them right. |
