Funny/stupid things people say about your bike(s)

I see similar threads like these on other sites I used to be active on, i.e. the S2000 owners' forum, and since I'm sure through my own personal experience that the general public always has something stupid and/or funny to say about motorcycles, I'm curious about what you guys have heard in your days as motorcyclists.
So post up the comments and interesting remarks you hear on occasion!

My ninjette was repainted by a PO to flat black, modified exhaust, totally de-badged. I stopped at a local gas station for a bottle of water, and a dude pulled up in the spot next to mine and said "nice bike....wh..what? Is that a ninja? Is it a 600?". I said yes, its a ninja, but its only a 250. He said "wow, pretty cool. I gave up riding cuz of other people. Drivers are idiots, and the kids in my neighborhood always kept trying to throw footballs at me as I rode up the street.". I just chuckled and said "yeah, you gotta watch out for the idiots". LOL

Most recently, I was talking with someone and said it was 250. He then looked at me in awe and said 'you went 250 on that?'. No, i've topped out @ 100 mph. He then said he thought the number meant that's how fast they go.

While wearing my mesh summer jacket and a light hoodie underneath in 70 degree weather, a woman in a parking lot sarcastically asked me, "Are you gonna be warm enough?"
I'm guessing she didn't know that my jacket was mesh and doesn't block any wind, and she didn't know that wind makes things pretty cold when you're going 65mph. Lucky she has a shield to block the wind for her, or she might not have been warm enough.

Some kids went by one day I was tooling and one said "cool bike man". I said thanks. as they walked past one said to another "it's a ducati"

Keep the stories coming, folks!

I've got several I can share, but let me start off with the most recent (a/k/a today).

I was getting on my bike about to leave college. A dude pulls up next to me on a blue R6. We have an English class together on Tuesdays. He says, "Hey, man! I got a bike now, too!" I said, "Congrats, man. It's beautiful."
Him: Thanks, man. I was gonna get that new CBR250, but I decided 250s are some p*ssy sh*t.
Me: Oh, really? I guess mine is some p*ssy sh*t, too, then...
Him: OH! WHAT?! I thought this was a Ninja 1000!!!
Me: Umm... No. It's a Ninja 250R.
Him: Ah, well, it's cool, man. Not ugly like the CBR.
Me: Is that R6 your first bike?
Him: Yeah, I just started riding a few days ago.
Me: Oooh kay then... Be safe.

A dude at my new job asked, "Why did you stop bringing your Ninjer to work?"
Me: Because riding 60 miles to work, working 12 hours and then riding back 60 miles isn't really fun.
Him: If I had a Ninjer, I'd be ridin' that sh*t all day, homey!
Me: That's cool.

WTF is a "Ninjer"?

While on my way home the other night I had a guy pull up next to me in a pickup. For some reason he felt it was necessary to open his window and let me know that he thought his lawnmower sounded better than my bike. After nodding to him he didn't seem happy that I was agreeing with him so he continued to tell me this until my light turned green.

Not surprising that it sounds similar to a lawnmower with the stock exhaust. Its got a similar sized engine to some lawnmowers.

not to mention that many lawnmowers also have a parallel twin engine. The engine configuration is more the cause of the sound than the exhaust. My lawn lower actually louder than the stock bike. volume is not equivalent to what sound it makes.

Went riding with my cousin, he has zx6r same year as my 2fiddy. Anyways, went to eat at In&Out burgers. We were putting on our helmets when this guy walks up, points to my cousin's bike(zx6r), and asks "Is that a 250."

I was like.. !!!
I pointed to my bike and said "This is a 250" LOL!

When they throw the foot ball at you you should stop. Get off your bike, pick up the football and beam one in the side of the head. That should teach them to not do it anymore.

I had some little kids throw rocks at my truck one day when I drove past them. Pretty sure they **** their pants when I locked the brakes and floored it in reverse towards them. They disappeared by the time I got out.

I don't care how mean it may seem but things like that are jsut unacceptable. I'm 21 and whe nI was a kid I never would've thought of throwing stuff at moving cars. Not sure why kids seem to think it's ok to damage stuff that belongs to others.

I find the D-bag things people say a pretty universal.
On a skateboard its all
"oh cool board man you skate?"
yeah man
"Ah cool I can haz kickflip???"
yeah man
"ah cool......"

Same thing with bikes.
A guy in a beater truck pulls up with his girl in the passenger and yells

"awesome bike man how fast can it go???
hey hey can you do a wheelie!?!"

this continues for a while so i smile and nod and he rips it off the line leaving a huge cloud of black that coats my bike and my lungs. of course 20 seconds later i'm beside him again at a light.

"hey man how big is it?"
"250"
"what!? common man!' get a real bike!" (stupid grin not pictured)
smiling and nodding...... smiling and nodding.

Now this time i'm determined not to get coated in toxic crap or talk to the redneck caveman and his "probably related to him in some way" girlfriend so i pull ahead off the line. i cruise along at the speed limit and a few moments later he floors it and attempts to pass me via the oncoming lane. after getting beside me and yelling something incoherent and laughing with his girl he tears right through the front bumper of a minivan waiting to turn. Bet she was impressed with him.

Byeeee!!! .....I didn't stop.

*Sitting at a stop light*
"Do a wheelie!" from the truck next to me
*I don't even look over*
"Pussssssssssssssssssssssaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!"
*as they drive away..*

I'm sitting there thinking "Little does he know". lol

Man I don't even look at people at the stop light anymore all it does is get you in trouble. Sorry I don't want to flip spankin' new jixxy right in front of everyone on the road. I sure as hell can stand it right up first try if I wanted to anyways.

I have the power to hold back my wrist, sometimes.
If you talk to me at a stop light I act like I didn't hear you now.
I don't care if you're some famous chick asking for my digits.
You'll still probably cause an accident and any idiot moron asking for a number with my helmet on isn't very bright anyways.

Just ignore everyone at the intersections trying to talk to you. Act like you didn't hear.
Unless they're helping you by saying you have a light out or flat tire or your stuff is hanging out of your backpack. Stuff you should triple check before your ride anyways along with tire pressure and oil level.

Well, there was the time we rode to the mountains and some people on a car pulls up beside us, giving us the thumbs up. We all give them a thumbs up back. That was cool, but then they proceeded to stick there hand out to give us a high five. My only thoughts were, they would grab our hand and wouldn't let go. Oh, btw, they were on our right side.

Some dude pulled up next to me at a light yesterday morning on my way to college. I was wearing a Lakers sweater underneath my zipped open textile jacket. He yells, "Sick bike AND a Lakers fan?! My daughter needs a man like you!"
I just waved and took off when the light turned green.

Aside from the typical 250 comments that people have made I actually heard some new ones this Friday when I went on a ride to Cloudcroft, NM. All directed at the RC....

Most of the younger crowd would raise an eyebrow and just dismiss the bike as "something loud".

Many people asked: WTF is that? Jesus....(akrapovic )

One 08 CBR1K rider had the balls to tell me that it was outdated technology. This is the same guy that was passed cleanly....on the inside.

Another jovial lad asked if I had repainted my 250 to look like a "real bike".

It's not just the 250 that get's picked on...it's people's intelligence...or lack thereof

Some dude yesterday overheard me having a conversation with a security guard who rides a Honda Goldwing.
The guy walked over and said, "I saw your Kawasaki. I used to have one, too. Is that the 900?"
Me: No! It's a 250!
Him: OH! Right on! Hater's gonna be haters, right?
Me: Sure...

I just had three people on separate occasions check out my bike in the parking lot (as I am getting off or getting on), and very knowledgeably would ask me "Is that a 750? Is that a 1000?".

I would just look at them, smile and reply "Its a Ninja!" and peel out

Man I never have this stupid stuff happen to me.. most people just ask me how big it is then I reply its a 500, seeing as they missed the 500R stickers on the side xP they probably get 500 and 600 mixed up anyways. One time on my way to work I was at a red light going straight and an STi came up next to me turning left and they were all giving me thumbs up and telling me how sick my bike was so I revved it a little and they revved then a WRX came up behind me and a cbr600rr behind him and they started revving so we had a 4 way rev fest going on. Some might consider that squidly or stupid but I don't care we were all having a good time.

These are great.
Got the lawnmower comment too.
I said that his lawnmower may be faster than my bike too but my bike is sexier and that's all that really counts.
Flipped my lid back down and turned.

Could have said, would have said, should have said...

- Then why aren't you out enjoying your awesome lawnmower?
- Your lawnmower probably uses twice the gas and is only half the fun.
- Do you take it to the track?
- Try mowing the lawn on two wheels next time. Much more fun.
- Does it burn your bum when you sit on it?

Got any more? I may need a list until I can go a bit faster...

I'm sure your woman/lady friend must enjoy riding around on the back of your mower.

Hmm, that whole line of thinking has lots of possibilities!

'Your lawnmower must impress the ladies' etc. Yes, that has more mileage than my ninja.

No one on bikes ever said anything nasty, just goon cagers/truckers.

Well, something along the lines of 'how does your boyfriend like riding on the back of your mower?' would sting more, but then you would really probably have to outrun them.

That doesn't sound stupid. It sounds silly and silly is good. Now what would have been stupid is if any combination of you 4 had tried to race each other when the light turned green.

As for my own story...I was gearing up to leave school late one night. A guy walks by and asks "Is that thing fast?" I considered explaining to him what a 250 was but he wasn't interested in a conversation and continued to walk past the bike. In retrospect I think I should have just told him it's a motorcycle.

New one from yesterday:

My battery had been dead for a good 2-3 days. I took the advice of Adrian (Adri99an) and rode it down hill. It started but kept sputtering and feeling like it was ready to die again. I rode around my town for a short while, and when I was roughly 2-3 miles away from my house, the bike randomly died. You can read more of this story in a bit when I post it in the off-topic section.
Anyway, here's where the funny bit starts.
As I'm walking my bike up hill, cars zooming past me, some slowing down to look at me, but nobody actually offering to help, I noticed a homeless guy pushing a shopping cart with a car battery in it. He was running towards me from a few blocks away. I stopped pushing my bike and waited to see what this guy wanted. As he got closer, he began walking, trying to catch his breath.
Him: You ok, man?
Me: Yes, sir.
Him: What happened?
Me: The stupid @ss battery died.
Him: Ah, damn! I got one right here! *points to the battery in his shopping cart*
Me: Oh, cool. I think that is a bit too big for my bike.
Him: Do you need help?
Me: Oh, no. I'm all right, sir. Thanks, though.
Him: What bike is this? The Ninja?
Me: Why, yes it is actually.
Him: Nice. I'm gonna buy a GSXR.
Me: Cool.

Walk in to the garage at work. A guy sitting in a van looks out and says
-nice bike, is that a 600 or 1200?
-I said its a 250!
-He was surprised and said really that looks bigger, my friend just got a 1200 and it looks just like this.
-I smile

At college..

Well the worst i got was someone said that I didnt have a ninja (even though i have all the gear and a helmet) and when they saw me in the parking lot they still didnt believe it was mine untill i got on and drove off.

otherwise its the standard "250s are to small" --Im 5'6..
and "it has no power"..your just fat
and "why didnt you get a bigger bike" --because im not worried about my cock size

I love it when people tell me one of my headlights isn't working.
I always end up turning on my highbeams to show them that they are working.
