Look what Alex.s and I found!

We had nothing motorcycle related on us, but we kept looking at him so he popped a wheelie. @alex.s told me to grab my camera, and I did...

I love the youtube ads, one for motorcycle insurance (of course, keywords....) and the other was for a service for making out your will.

That video was great. Two losers in a beat up pickup playing gangsta music making fun of a guy trying to save the front tire from premature wearout syndrome.

Nice wheelies & I like the old truck.

Wow! You guys got footage of a desert squid! They're a particularly elusive creature. Until today this was the only picture of one in existence!

Was that Alex.S in the video, in the pickup truck? Quite an attractive fella!

Did the desert squid really not have a back brake?? ... or were you just pointing out he had no brake light?

ha ha! Google really has got it's advert algorithms working well. Either that or they have an army of low wage workers creating relevant ads.

So... some motorcycles have a rear brake handlebar lever?

Its an add-on for stunters mainly. It goes under the clutch and is just another lever like your front brake Its so a stunter can have both feet off of his rear peg and still be able to hit the rear brake if he feels the front coming up too much

I see. Do you think the desert squid could bring his front tentacle wheel down quickly by just chopping the throttle off? Maybe the drag of the engine isn't as responsive as using the rear brake.

I've got to say: I'd love to see one of these guys pulling a wheelie like that! It's pretty stupid to do on public roads but really fun to see!

Possibly, but if he is that far back then a cop of the throttle won't do it. If it was in a parking lot and he was doing 1st gear stand ups then a throttle chop 99% of the time will bring the front down

This is why you cover your brake, if he hadnt, he would have looped it

Link to original page on YouTube.

It was pretty fun, not going to lie! We were giggling like schoolgirls getting this guy to do stupid crap on the freeway Not often you can get someone to react like that

Don't you have these creatures in UK, Akima?

They are all over Florida, year around.

Remember that the air stream is pushing the nose up, just like it happens to those speed boats that flip backwards.
The guy in the video is good; he was using his own weight to control the wheelie.

The vast majority of bikers you see on the road here are quite sensible (which is a good thing!). It's mostly the young scallywags on 50CC scooters and 125s that are pretty squidy. They're pretty harmless and even sightly hilarious sometimes. You see packs of kids on 50CC scooters all at a stop light revving their engines, but because they don't have a proper clutch they're all jolting forward a little bit and then rolling back Love em all the same though!

I did see one young guy on a 600 pop a wheelie once.

+1 All the time I watch people try and muscle around a 600 or a 1000 and have no idea what they are doing. Alex and I saw a motorcycle cop that had no idea how to ride, he was a danger to himself and everyone around him

I think it really is dangerous for new riders to jump on a 600CC super sport as their first bike. I believe it's even detrimental to their learning experience and enjoyment. I really don't think I could have attained the confidence I've gained so far if I had started on a bigger bike. Also: bigger engine bikes look like a lot of fun, but they also look so cumbersome compared to my ninjette. I can weave around and balance my light little ninjette with minimal effort.

I've never ridden anything bigger than a CB500 though, so I don't know this for sure.

600's freaking rock for highway weaving!! freaking scalpel.

On second thought, this might be a large part of why my long term use of my buddy's 600 did not persuade me to buy a 600. too tempting for me at the time.

SIDE NOTE: alex and akima sitting in a tree, k-i-s-s-i-... No wait, nevermind.

@Kevin2109: I bet your 636 comes to life on the track! Is it frustrating sometimes being on the public roads and not being able to push your bike any where near its limits... it must be practically idling the whole time! Poor thing

Lol well she is loud so I'm content with cruising in the streets, I find myself speeding if I can hear my bike

And yeah! She is a blast on the track! I open her up from time to time on freeway on ramps, but other then that, her and I just go with the flow

akima, check out the vids on Kevin's youtube channel. He's got up all his track videos. You'll get a good idea of what a 600 does when you're able to open it up.

I like the use of just the clutch to get you going. Good luck doing that on a ninjette. Second thoughts: you carb-ninjette owners could push the choke to maximum and I guess that would help move the bike using just the clutch.
