New Tires - BT45 s or Kenda k671 s

Well, it's about that time to get new tires on the bike. Currently sitting just under 6k miles on the stock tires. I was debating between the Kenda k671's which I can get for about $145 shipped, or the BT45's which will likely be about $215 shipped.

My question to you guys is whether the BT's are worth extra $70 bucks? If so why?

I assume the the price you quoted was for both front and rear? I have never had Kendas so I can't quote on how well they handle and wear. I do have the BT-45 and have been really happy thus far. I have put about 2k miles so far and have plenty of life left. great in dry and wet conditions. The rear was a pain to mount though.

Yes, for the set on both.

I have 110 front and 130 rear BT-45s and I love them. I've put less than 500 miles on them, so I can't be that reliable, but I have no complaints wet or dry.

HAHA cuong-nutz!!

YUP that rear tire is SOOOOO hard to mount with tire irons... oh GOD i had trouble but after 2 days it finally popped on! >.< But... BT-45's are very nice, i love mine!

I just wanted to add one thing to this conversation. A couple of weeks back, I had Sport Demon's put on my Ninjette. I liked them immediately. Really good riding tyres. Obviously, I have no idea about their durability because I've only had them a couple of weeks.

But ...

Yesterday I was on a ride and I significantly 'over-cooked' it on a dual-carriageway heading down to a roundabout (circle for those in the USA). No excuses. 100% my fault. I was having too much fun on a section of road that has roundabouts every 1-2 miles, and they're all great to zoom around. As I approached this particular roundabout slowing from 70 to around 55/60mph, I realised that I wasn't going to beat the traffic that was coming round. So, with about 100ft to go, I hit the front and rear brakes.

Wow!

The bike stopped great. I mean, really, REALLY great. I was definitely going too fast, and definitely misjudged the situation, and definitely needed those brakes and tyres to work EXACTLY as advertised ... and they did.

So, I'm now very much a Sport Demons fan.

Just put the Kendas on my bike about a month ago. Satisfied with them so far. Dont know how the wear is going to be, but traction, ride, and balancing are fine.

Yep, I've ran both and prefer the Kenda K671s (I've used several sets) over the Bridgestone BT-45s. But my favorite atm is the Pirelli Sport Demons.
